Iowa vs Rutgers

Big win for Purdue. They're pushing Iowa out of the bubble

Purdue moved up 12 spots for that win, up to 59 as of now, Iowa down to 60. I don't think this win will move Iowa much either direction off of 60. I think both will improve from there, but if they were to both finish with RPI that low it's not crazy to see the committee giving the nod to some mid majors instead.

Iowa definitely doesn't have a ton of room for error. I guess it also depends on how soft the bubble is, and lately it has been pretty soft. What was the lowest RPI to get an at-large? 72? and if that is what it was, it was an outlier.

I think that is it. I'd rather be Iowa with that @UNC win and a 60s RPI than Purdue with a poor non-conf and wins against a down big ten if they have a similar RPI.

I think Iowa needs a pretty brutal record to stay home because of that @UNC win. Flip that results and the experts probably have them out right now.

Not going to put Mid Majors in when Iowa has as many good wins as it has. Really only one bad loss in NW.

According to Lunardi it's not a bad loss. They have 16 wins and have a lot of tough, close losses so it's not a bad loss; not like NW or Texas Tech.
I would rather watch Texas Tech game in the tournament than the eye-gouging affair that is Iowa basketball.

I agreed with that in another thread, but if Purdue doesn't improve its RPI it shouldn't feel comfortable. They don't have an @UNC in their back pocket. Neither does Illinois if they slip a little. Iowa is safe, the idea that the B10 will probably get 8 is still premature when you look at some pretty poor RPI #s.

Loss to a team outside the RPI 100 at home. It's a bad loss for a hopeful tournament team. On the road it wouldn't be.

I think Iowa's in unless they really tank, but you're just spinning for no reason on that one.

Probably get 8 teams in the tournament, is that good or bad?

If they get 8 in the tourney, I guarandamntee you that 5 of them will be watching the second round games (or, if you're Fran.....THIRD round games) from the stands. And another one or maybe two will lose over the first weekend.

Strictly cannon fodder. Washington Generals.

Beating a hapless Rutger @Carver Mausoleum will give the mindless fans some false hope leading into their rugged stretch of Nebraska, Illinois, Penn St, and Northwestern

gives me goosebumps

Sweeped the floor with Maryland (remember them?) and beat Ohio State twice.
You're not trying to imply that because you beat Maryland and Maryland beat us, you're now better than us, are you? If only there was a head to head matchup to settle this...
