BLUM: Paul Rhoads deserves another climb

So let's say that CPR does get fired after next year, and we get a new coach. Do you disregard winning seasons for that new coach for as long as there are CPR recruits on that roster?

If the program declines as more and more the new coaches guys get here, then yes. If the guy wins, brings in his own guys and continues to win, then no.

We get on and say Rhoads is a terrible gameday coach and preparer. Which is truth.

That's an irrelevant question.
If that coach tanks seasons 5 and 6, then his program is terrible. That's the only fact that will matter.

What if the coach has consecutive losing seasons in their 9th and 10th seasons??

And the only fact that really matters is that the decision has been made and CPR is coaching Iowa State next year. Time to either shut up. Or fully support the team.

No guarantee that decision has been made, but I respect your ability to combine rudeness and bad grammar in one sentence somehow turned into two. Well done.

The reason I ask is that the coach I am speaking of has just been hired by Nebraska as their Head Coach.

Either fully support the team. Or shut up. What you are doing does not help the Cyclones. That is just telling you the truth.

You and the truth/reality as ISU football is concerned aren't even on the same planet. You seem to be more a CPR fan than a Cyclone fan.

Cyclone fan all the way.

The decision has been made by JP. Your constant complaining accomplishes nothing. It hurts and doesn't help.

I will support what happens in the future concerning decisions as well once those decisions have been made.

Honestly, I'm genuinely curious, what would you do with this program? Do think what CPR has done the past two years is acceptable, or is cancelled out by his first years?

Do you think ISU is in position to go to a bowl game with this setup? Do you think CPR has been even an average decision maker in his time here, and especially the past two years? Both coaching and staff decisions.

Thought that was why you wanted to fire our coach......to emulate Nebraska and Kansas. What do you think of their new coaches?

Then you have not been reading the words on the screen. I'm not impressed by either one, which is another nice and irrelevant red herring you're throwing out there.

One thing matters to me: What we're doing is atrocious. The guy leading the program built an awful one, so he should be removed. It's not a Kansas/Nebraska Act. It's solely about Iowa State.

But Mac doe.

Everyone keeps saying bring in a bunch of kudos to immediately fix our problems. Look where that philosophy got Wiess. A swift kick in the backside right out the door.

I've been a supporter for over 30 years but CPR is reminding me of a public school teacher. Your kids are too immature/feel entitled translates to CPR's excuse that we are too young. Then you look at TCU, West Virginia, and Pitt all playing tons of under class-men. Teacher's blame low test scores on home environments and the standardized tests are unfair. CPR blames his touch schedule, etc. Yet he is losing to FCS teams mutiple times. I could keep going but you get it.

We would have better teachers if we pay for performance. Same thing with CPR. We are paying him a premium and school should expect a level of performance on par with his compensation.

So you obviously have his replacement in mind. Who would that be?

I see what you're saying, it's pretty tough to replace what's in place now. I mean this Head Coach and this staff do things that few others could do. Their skill set as displayed today and all season is pretty damned impressive.
