BLUM: Paul Rhoads deserves another climb

Good read from Blum as usual. He makes an eloquent case for a point of view with which I disagree. I hope he's right and I'm wrong.

I don't necessarily agree with Blum on this, but it's as clear and concise of an argument for keeping CPR as possible. Certainly two sides to this whole debate. Great job!

I agree with you, Blum, but your last analogy was poor. Everyone knows if you find yourself in a valley (or a hole) you stop digging.

As frustrating as the last 2 years have been, I agree, that blowing up the foundation is not a smart financial or operational move. Pollard is as smart as they come, and he knows that starting over in Football every 4 -6 years is not going to get it done.

A new article, full of the same old excuses! I am a die hard Cyclone and do not buy into it! It's time for a new leader of this program!

We need to keep supporting the team. Buy tickets fill the stadium and make this a place everyone wants to come and play. If the recruits and players want to be here this will fix many evils. Go get some tickets and have fun!!

I agree with Blum to an extent. However, as I read that I see "bad hire in Messingham" "failed pistol experiment with Klenaikis" "Recruiting misses leaving us bare for 2013". All those things have to fall back on the man making those decisions, right?

Good read as always Blum. I genuinely hope CPR can turn this around. If they can find some semblance of a defense and figure out the OL they have a shot to get back to where ISU fans will at least put away the pitchforks.

Will somebody explain to me what order we are supposed to fire people in?

We want to fire Wally and Shane, but it's Rhoads's fault for keeping them so we need to fire him too, then fire Pollard for giving CPR a bad contract and defending Rhoads.

Then we have to get the Register to fire Randy Peterson, Fanatic has to fire CW and Blum for being homers too. Am I doing this right?

:jimlad:

Good article. I'm on board with one more climb with Rhoads next year. If it doesn't happen, I hope we reset. If it does (and I hope it does), even better.

2009-2012. Would have thought a diehard Cyclone fan like yourself would have remembered those four seasons.

You just named 3 losing seasons and a season with arguably the easiest schedule ISU will face.
