Question for all of you, because I've asked myself and still don't know the answer: Say we lose to Kansas this week (I don't think we will, but bear with me), can Rhoads keep his job? Not asking if he will, because I'm 100% sure Paul Rhoads will be Iowa State's coach heading into the 2015 season. I'm asking: Is that a fireable offense in your mind?

No, but it would shorten his leash going into next season.

Im not asking for 8-9 wins per season. What I am saying is its not unreasonable, nor is it outside of ISU's football budget. ISU is most definitely in a position where they can expect a bowl game every season, and can hope for that 7-8 wins season every 5-10 years or so, while taking a 4-5 win season every 5-10 years or so.

I think CPR can meet these expectations, but what you cant allow to happen is a pattern of 3-4 wins seasons. That's why I am willing to give him 1 more year to turn this ship, because I'm completely confident that he can do it.

I am not calling for Rhoads' head yet, but haven't seen anything this season or last to make me completely confident he can right the ship.

I agree, but we have seen that he can do it in years 1-4.

I get what youre saying, and I agree to a point. However, I don't think having a minimum expectation of winning 2 of the non-con games each season, and 3 conference games is too much.

You may have it reversed. Expect three non conf and two conf wins each year.

Wouldn't it be ironic to have Mangino hired as head coach after this season is over with a loss to KU being the one of the main causes?
