Time to put mangino in charge and move CPR to DC.

Why do people keep saying this? I get "Fire Rhoads" but why "Replace him with Mangino"? The offense has looked bad all year with the exceptions of the first half against K-State, the second half against Toledo, and about three quarters against Texas. Having a good offense for the rough equivalent of two games out of 9 doesn't sound good enough to me

This is an absolute embarrassment to Iowa State University,we cannot even compete with the 2nd worst team in the big 12. Let Mangino coach the remainder of the season.

I bet who ever voted for the Paul Rhoads should not be on the hot seat and should remain head coach for at least two more seasons

I think the real question is why you thought he shouldn't have been on the hot seat, because usually when you vote for these it shows your vote in italics...

Has any coach of a major conference ever been fired at half? Since this is our only chance at a conference win this season, if I were AD, I'd think giving CPR his walking papers at half would be a great idea. To play this bad against KU, I wonder if not having any coaches would be a better option at this point. Holy **** this is a disgrace.

Instead of firing Rhoads the best case would probably be for him to leave and become the head coach somewhere else. Does Creighton need a football coach?

Is it too late to amend my poll response?

No. This is a work in progress. Never even crossed my mind that be could lose to KU after watching their morass for two years and KU loss of two top running backs. Well, **** happens.

There's a fire Paul Rhoads Facebook page now, you're trying to tell me he still has a job? I thought it was official once you had a page made

The page has 2 likes and the description is:

Die hard fans of the Iowa Sate football program that demand a change be made. We can no longer continue to settle for a dumpster fire football program.

So...

I "upgraded" from last week's poll from "one more year" to "at the end of the season." The more I think about it, I say do it now (Monday morning).

Bowl eligibility is out of the picture, so there's no ruining continuity for that. And there's a bye week, so the team has an extra week to re-group.

Unless CPR has completely lost the team then I think he should be fired at the end of the season. What other benefit would it serve to fire him now? I don't think any coach who is currently coaching would want to interview until the regular season is over.

When you are stuck in some really bad mud, it is always best to keep rocking back and forth and keep gunning it and spinning the tires until you bury the thing so deep you can't even get the doors open and the clutch is burned out.

Although I've entered the lean-toward-firing camp, I'm not completely against retaining him if reduction of buyout is too steep of a limitation.

What concerns me about that is, I feel like we've entered the zone we saw in the McDermott era when the level of results required to rekindle confidence in the program gets more unrealistic as the stagnation continues.

(Rhoads isn’t quite at the point McDermott was after Year 3, but it’s approaching that — taking into account football/basketball relativity. At least CPR has actually defeated a few good teams (and one great one) along the way and got into postseason..).

If Iowa State finishes 3-9 or 2-10 this year, Rhoads may have to finish at least 8-5 in 2015 to balance the down-slope. Is that a realistic expectation? If it’s 6-7 with a bowl loss in '15, what will 2016 require? 9-4?

Failure to notch at least an additional win during both '11 and '12 complicates matters. If there were two higher-than-normal wins in that stretch, then followed by a two-season drop-off, there would be some discontent, but we'd at least know the staff was capable of resurgence.

seems like some one created a bunch of accounts and voted for this massive fail to continue.. or a bunch of Kansas fans just joined cyclone fanatic.
