That logic makes zero sense. A kid isn't going to develop a fear of trees if Daddy beats the hell out of him with a branch - he knows Daddy was wielding it.

It is psychologically proven, but just keep talking. Do you have kids or are you one of those people who thinks they know better than an actual parent? I am just curious because I see a lot of judgement out of people who could really stand to deal with the issues first hand.

I know many, many kids that are very well-behaved having never been spanked. Positive discipline works, and works without any sort of violence. Like many other skills, it is something everyone can practice and get good at.

I may get knocked for this but why the hell is this country so freaking soft. Yeah it may of been excessive for for ****** sakes, wooden spoons used to be a normal beating stick. Now u can't even spank your kids or its abuse. Now I'm not condoning child abuse but your wonder why kids are the way they are these days. They need some real damn discipline!

The kid is 4 years old, not 9, 10, 11 years old. Bit of a difference.

I don't need to take the time to cite actual studies because I know the evidence is on my side PLUS my personal anecdotal evidence.

Corporal punishment isnt the way to go all the time, but I know when I was younger, I wouldnt stop doing something until dad got a hold of me. Were the other ways to punish me that could have been just as effective? Probably. Did I deserve to get spanked? Absolutely.

Im not saying to spank your kids all the time, they are your kids, you punish them the way you seem fit. (That is a bug pet peeve of mine) But, in my opinion, spanking needs to be done.
