BEAT IOWA

haha..got a bet with a hawk fan friend of mine.. 100 on the football game if he would also bet 100 on the basketball game. I figure I either win 200 or break even..

IMO, that is a bad bet, since both games are at Iowa.

I just hope that Mangino game plans to forget about running up the middle and goes after the Iowa secondary, because they are just not as good as the front 4 by a long ways. The LBers are not as good this year either. Lets not be like Mess and try and run at Iowa for 3 quarter and then decide to pass when the game is basically over.

The team that played KSU shows up, we might very well win.

The team that played NDSU shows up, Iowa runs away with it.

We'll just have to see.

KSU, NDSU as a set clearly > UNI and Ball St.

Neither team has really proved themselves the clear superior to the other. Put a gun to my head, I probably take Iowa (if only for the game being in Iowa City), but this one just got a lot closer for me.

Yeah, because stopping the clock for Iowa, and having your best CB go out of the game twice in that series is exactly what Ball State was wanting to do.... not.

I thought it was hilarious when Iowa fans were booing Ball State's injuries, as if they were doing it on purpose. How clueless can that fanbase be over in IC? Those injuries killed Ball State's chances at winning the game. Not having Patterson out there for several plays really hurt them.

Understandably..you may not have seen some of the games I have. Michigan State...for example...made an art out of flop injuries on key drives when their defense was getting gassed. They were clearly coached to do it. Ball St was in a similar situation (the TV crew from ESPN said as much... "look at how the Ball St defenders all have their hands on their hips, they're tired"). And then...guys started dropping like flies. Iowa certainly wasn't running a "hurry up" O...but it doesn't require a spread offense to fatigue a D. (sometimes, just a good FCS team is enough)

You may not agree, and that's fine. But the injury flop is no big secret...a number of teams have been called out for it in recent years. I think that's why the Iowa fans were booing, they sensed they were seeing it again. Iowa fans are no different than Iowa State fans with real injuries...they politely applaud opposing players as they leave the field. Nobody wants to see guys injured.

I don't follow - how so?

Hello.

I was thinking with losing to NDSU and then having a close lose to KSU will be quite draining on the players. I may be wrong(probably am ha ha) but it seems like something that could happen. Get up for NDSU only to have huge blow and repeat the same for week two and then having Iowa as your week three...seems like an emotional overload to me.

Did I watch the same game you did week 1? I don't think anybody got up for the week 1 game.
