Iowa may be the easiest win on the schedule.

Iowa's kicking game will cost them at least one win. Almost happened today. 3 missed field goals. Ugh. Next week looks like a complete toss up given the way each team played today.

Weird, ESPN initially only had Richardson finishing with 52 passing yards when he had 185. Either way, I was talking about passing yards not total yards.

How many passing yards did your idiot quarterback have? He seemed to be overthrowing everything by 10 yards.

Were you looking at West's passing totals? His one pass may have been close to that.

If we're going by how each team played today Iowa State will kill Iowa.

Also for the other hawk:

Sam Richardson completed 14-straight passes today and finished 21-of-30 for 185 yards passing.

You must be talking about the only times he threw downfield which happened about 3x all game. I'd rather have Beathard in there, much stronger arm but Ruddock doesn't make too many mistakes or turn the ball over just checks the ball down way too much.

We are 0-2 last time I checked. We are in no position to trash talk. Just because we play K-State close and Iowa almost loses to Ball State does not mean we are better than Iowa all of a sudden.

Ball State has the worst offense I have ever seen and I am being 100% serious.

This coming from the guy who said "I think ISU's defense is going to surprise a lot of people". Keep em coming Curt. I like your predictions. They are usually wrong.

By the way Ball State won 10 games last year. I don't think they are anywhere close to being that kind of team this year, and I will not make excuses for the way Iowa performed today. That was a pathetic performance by the Iowa offense up until the last few minutes. The defense played lights out tho.

My biggest concern about Iowa is the lack of running game. That was the one aspect of the Hawks that most people thought would be a given this year, and it just hasn't been the case. When Iowa has actually spread it out they move the ball pretty efficiently (see the last 5 minutes of today's game). When they've tried to establish the running game it had been pretty ugly. I'm not sure the constant rotation at RB is a good thing. Personally, I think they should stick with Canzeri and Daniels. They just bring more to the table than Weisman and Bullock.

With that said, I was fully expecting Iowa to lose today and they pulled away with the W so I'll take it. They didn't deserve to win. I'm hoping it was a wake up call because if not I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to see a loss to the Cyclones next weekend.

I have no problem eating some crow by the way. I didn't expect ISU to even compete today. When I saw the score at halftime I had to rub my eyes and double check a couple times. No points in the 2nd half hurt big time. Seems like there must be a struggle with consistency on offense? I didn't get to watch so I don't know. Either way, ISU must have played much better than i expected them to. I'm not near as comfortable about next week as I was yesterday.

TL;DR because nothing you ever say is worthwhile to read.

Why did you just say this........now you jinxed it.

Also, it doesn't matter, history tells us it will be 50/50

I don't believe in jinxes.

Iowa has too much to fix in 1 weeks time. Can't run, can't pass deep, can't stop the pass, & can't kick field goals = ISU victory

Iowa's defense is still pretty good. Ball states only td came on a fumble return.

Iowas defensive line is solid, but passed that, its not anything more then average. They played a pretty bad Ball State team today, so don't give their defense credit for holding them down. Id say out of ISU's first three games, Iowa probably has the least talent overall. ISU has gotten 3 of their last 4 wins on the road, so playing away from home will be nice.

Iowa didn't do anything special in the last 5 mins, don't kid yourself. Ball State folded like a tent. It was pathetic.

Ball State in the last 5 mins was like ISU's defense in the last minute of the 1st half today.... super conservative prevent defense that does nothing.

Ball State could not have made the last 5 mins any easier today on Iowa. On Ball State's 2nd to last possession, when all they needed was one 1st down to win the game, they played right into Iowa's hands. It couldn't have possibly worked any better for Iowa.

Two runs sideways for nothing, followed by Iowa's last 2 timeouts. So virtually no time off the clock. Then on 3rd down, they throw an incomplete pass, stopping the clock again for Iowa, who had no timeouts.

And on Iowa's final drive, Ball State has guys getting hurt on nearly every play, which also stopped the clock for Iowa. It was SO bad that I thought possibly that Ball State lost on purpose. Did they have something riding on losing this game?

And after they lose a heartbreaker, the Ball State players are out shaking hands and laughing with the Iowa players at midfield. Nobody looked disappointed at all. It was as if they were thrilled they just barely lost for some odd reason?
