I don't see how this would be any kind of precursor for civil action against the school. It's one thing to allege that someone maliciously attempted to have you prosecuted in a criminal court, it's entirely another to say the school acted wrongfully in kicking him out of school. We're talking about two entirely different governing standards.
There were a couple times we could have used an extra guard last year when we had foul problems, needed a change of pace, had some injuries, had some bad shooting. The media sideshow on Bubu also did not help the team. Luckily, things improved at the end.I cringe every time a Bubu thread is bumped, but I'm glad for this one.
IMO, people who file false rape charges are almost as bad as actual rapists. It ruins innocent people's lives, and makes actual rape victims less likely to come forward in the future. :realmad:

Ah, the mighty class of 2009:

This program has come a llllllllllooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggg way!
Outside of Bubu who are they? I seriously don't know and am too lazy to look it up.
Good for Bubu... I support him 100%. Rape is such a big deal that I agree with prior posters in that accusing an innocent person of rape is as significant as rape itself. I hope those responsible for the false accusations are held to the harshest of penalties which in my opinion should include jail and significant restitution to Bubu. I also think ISU administration should make a public statement clearing him of any wrong doings. They can state they took the conservative route and the actions were warranted given the allegations but that owe that to help this young innocent person move on with his life.
Do you honestly think an AD and university president would go as far as they did in trying to keep Bubu away from their athletic programs if the evidence presented to them in any possible way indicated that Bubu was innocent?
The fact that he is now turning around and suing this girl is just disgusting.
And yet, every time the case was brought before IMPARTIAL adjudicators, they found in favor of Bubu.
If a woman falsely accused you of rape, would you smile and say "thank you ma'am, may I have another?" or would you fight to restore your battered reputation by whatever means are at your disposal?
I hope he wins then goes after leath.
There are so many assumption here that aren't fair to anybody.
There's no reason that Leath would not be impartial. He wouldn't have any built-in reason to get rid of Bubu. He was only involved once the case was appealed into his jurisdiction.
Bubu hasn't been found innocent or guilty by any court of law. I get that the lack of a guilty verdict or prosecution is getting you to the words "falsely accused," but that isn't proven either. This could simply be a bully tactic on Bubu's part to force people to go his direction.
The best course for everyone would be to move along. I can't imagine Bubu stands to gain a lot of money out of this lawsuit. This will be a nice mess, though, and we can keep having Bubu threads. I guess that's nice.
And yes, I hate myself for succumbing and posting in this discussion.
