RECRUITING: Recapping Hallice Cooke's ISU visit

We got this, he just needs something to compare Fred's dreaminess to. Which we all know, there is no comparison.

"....what it would be like for me to play with Monte (Morris) and Naz (Long) and stuff like that. We could be a really deep team if that happens,â€￾

YES!

Neither of these guys are eligible immediately. Itd be nice to lock up a couple more 2015 spots but no big deal if we dont get them.

Loved the line..."I learned about the relationships he has with people all over."

That kind of stuff is going to get us in doors we haven't been able to get in before.

Chance that he isn't as good as originally thought and didn't get the full court from Fred? A coach shouldn't sell depth to a top priority recruit he should sell pt. just an idea.

Why do you think we didn't? That quote should make you think they did just that. Depth requires Cooke to get PT and be a major contributor.

Cooke knows our roster and that we have MM and Naz. Pretty natural that while informing Cooke on his huge role and his ample PT, how he fits with MM and Naz would be discussed. Did you expect the him not to ask or realize that with him playing Kane's role of combo guard, we would be a deep team?

Also have MT and Custer coming in, so we have a lot of young talent in the back court. Either he thinks that is good, he will have a lot of competition and play on a winning team OR he knows his minutes will be limited and it will tough to be the "man" in Ames.

It is possible we evaluated him on his visit and didn't like what we saw. Happened last year supposedly with the kid from Maine that ended up at kstate. I'm not insinuating that's what happened but throwing it out as a possibility.

I mean we aren't desperate at this point. If the kid(whoever that kid is) won't be a big minute guy, I think it would be smart of us to pass. This program is in a great position to do that.
