***Offical NBA Regular Season Thread***

I'd bet my left nut that Melo never wins a ring.

I don't think he'll ever win one as the best player on a team. If he finds a situation where he can be a second, or third later on in his career, option on the right team, I could see him getting one. His offensive game is going to age pretty well.

other potential trades:

Jordan Hill to the Nets
Iman Shumpert and Felton the Clippers for Collison and Reggie Bullock
Tony Allen and Tayshaun Prince to th T'Wolves for Budinger and Barea
Harrison Barnes might get traded
Any 76er other than MCW on the block

Man, not much there that really moves the needle. I suppose there could be some interesting hypothetical Harrison Barnes trades, although he hasn't been great this year.

Is that legit? Last update I saw from Marc Stein like 15 mins ago said the Rockets weren't willing to give up Parsons.

This is what I am still hearing... They don't want to give up Parsons. But Jeff Green can help soften that blow, and Rondo is a legitimate 3rd star for the Rockets. At the position/style they could best use a star. Assist first PG.

Not surprising. Sucks that it will make it more difficult for the T-wolves to get anything of value for him before he leaves though.

Yeah, tough spot for them. They can deal him for fifty cents on the dollar now or let him walk for nothing later. But wasn't this all basically set in motion when Khan made Rubio a priority for a long term deal instead of Love a couple years ago?

Fair enough. But if not Chicago, where does he go? To share shots with Kobe Bryant or be the second option behind Blake Griffin for the Clips in LA? I get the impression that he wants to play for a contender AND be in a big market. He's not going to be able to have it both ways. Risks aside, the Bulls come the closest to having the pieces for a contender and being in a big market. Nowhere else makes much sense, unless Melo stays in NY and they put a good coach and decent roster around him. Not likely with James Dolan calling the shots.

He would be the first option where ever he goes but LAL (aka Kobe wants the rock) and Houston (The bearded Wonder) and OKC (Durant). He is a post up player and that is better than a Blake dunk artist.

First of all, Blake Griffin has expanded his game beyond just a "dunk artist". If you don't think so you haven't watched any Clips basketball this season. Second of all, you missed my point about being in a big market. Where can he go to be the top dog in a major market besides Chicago or staying in NY? Maybe Dallas, but would Dirk move over?

Now Love, Adelman and Flip are denying the opt-out rumors. Who knows. In any case, the T'wolves need to make the playoffs soon or trade K-Love for LA's top pick in the draft, Pau Gasol and one more player (probably will come from a third team). LA would have the #5 pick in the draft.

Let the Lakers sink. They dumped Steve Blake and Andrew Bynum and they now have Wesley Johnson as one of their top scorers. They jerk Pau around and Nick Young is injured. What a mess.

Yes, which is looking increasingly stupid as Rubio is clearly not a franchise player.

Interesting. I wonder if they're worried about resigning Stephenson in the off-season.

Getting Grangers salary off the books saves them a ton and helps with signing Stephenson.

But this trade also shores up the bench for the Pacers. they are stacked now. You have Evan Turner and Lance possibly leading the second unit? Pacers became NBA championship caliber.
