why would he quit when he is still better than 90% of the NBA? eventually he will stop injuring the same thing over and over.
Is this an instance of him trying to get back to full speed too fast? He didn't really ease himself back into the rotation. I mean he was playing starter's minutes pretty soon after he came back.

Hyperextension is presumed to have led to @kobebryant tibial plateau fracture. A strong Achilles helps to prevent hyperextension.

A strong left Achilles helps dampen load & prevent hyperextension on left knee. @kobebryant early return may have contributed to his injury.
