Official 2014 Recruiting thread

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned on here before but could the reason Clay Anderson took a job at Iowa State be that he is anticipating Cole to come here? Would be pretty cool knowing you will have your family at all the home games

Cole Anderson

Hell Yes to both of these guys - Clinkscales & Scott!!!!!!!!

A big fella up front with the size, speed, & strength and we can never have enough good Corners, especially in our league.

Both would probably play immediately and would be major additions to this recruiting class.

I don't know, as a receiver, playing for the 10th best passing team and 12th highest scoring team may be slightly more intriguing than the 52nd and 84th. I don't know who some of you think ISU is compared to Indiana.

The better question is, who the hell do you think Indiana is and why do you have such a confusing hard on for them?

What isn't to like about Indiana? They have won 5 National Titles, made 8 Final Four appearances, 21 Sweet Sixteens, 21 Big Ten Titles, etc...

Wait... we were talking football right? My bad. I am sure any recruit would be impressed with their 1 bowl appearance in the last 2 decades. 1 winning season since 1994? If that doesn't get recruits excited I don't know what will. The last coach to post an overall winning percentage over .500 during his tenure at Indiana was the highly regarded Bo McMillin from 1934 to 1947 so they have that going for them.

It's not really what I think. It's that the stats show that they are one of the best passing offenses in the nation and have had a good offense for a few years now. That wouldn't really matter if we were talking about a cornerback but since we are talking about a receiver, it seems relevant. There's also a possibility that we aren't taking anymore receivers at this point with at least three new ones already coming and other needs to fill. Also, something's going on there because they are recruiting pretty well and are 3-2. I didn't say we were going up against a powerhouse, just that there were reasons a receiver would like Indiana.

Is there really that big a difference between 1947 and 1978 (Earl Bruce)? Both of those years are well before any current recruit was even born. I don't think we have much to crow about, even against Indiana.

Fanbase is something I would "crow" about.

They don't have awful attendance. I would say that as far as progression they are about where we were at in Rhoads third year. It's also Wilsons third year right now. They don't have the fanbase we have though, that's for sure.

To be honest there are some historical similarities between ISU and Indiana but when it comes to recent history (last 20 years) and fan support ISU blows Indiana out of the water.
