Coaching does matter. There are far fewer coaches than you think that could make the finals with that team.

It's not just about having talent, it's about getting that talent to fit the role you want them to have and designing schemes to fit that talent.

Lakers fans are figuring out what Knicks fans already knew: Mike Dantoni is a system coach who is terrible unless his players perfectly match that system.

doubtful, Lakers and Heat's a bad comparison. Heat have 3 guys close to prime. Lakers have Howard in his prime, Gasol close to being out of his, and Kobe and Nash who aren't even close to is. D'Antoni sucks as a coach, but the Lakers played good towards the end, they are running into a good Spurs team.

Plus, it's not like these egos were the Randy Moss or Allen Iverson type...

They aren't? Remember how LeBron just quit on his team in Cleveland and Miami? It's amazing how short of memories people have and how fast they change their narratives.

Yep Spoelstra took great talent and won a title, Karl well I think you're quote speaks for itself:

Wow, he led a mediocre team to mediocrity. I'm pretty impressed.
Once again, you're saying more talent equals more championships? GOLLY GEE this reasoning stuff is harder than I thought!

Do you think Karl would have won any titles if he were coaching the 2010-present Miami Heat? Yes or no response, please.

Again ...avoiding making a point
How am I avoiding it?

My point is, you have a deep and profound love for Mr. Spoelstra. It wouldn't surprise me to read something in the newspaper a few months from now.......

"Today, Erik Spoelstra and CyJack13 welcomed their baby boy LeBoshade into the world. He was born at 10 pounds 3 ounces, had an oversized head, and has already spoken his first phrase! It was, 'I'm taking my talents to the nursery.'"

I'm glad Spoelstra, after 2 years, finally figured out a way to win with one of the most elite NBA rosters ever assembled. Must have been tough.

tougher than you're giving him credit for anyway

Gasol isn't close to out of his prime, he's just been so terribly misused. The guy isn't a spread the floor player, he's a low post scorer. Yet Dantoni consistantly has him 17 feet away from the basket.

Yes the Lakers are running into a good Spurs team. You know why that is? It's because they're the 7 seed.

How does everyone feel about the Thunder's chances

Y! SPORTS

I think they still make the finals. Sounds like Westbrook could be back in a few weeks. Time for Durant to show how good he is. I think he'll put up 50 points in at least one of these games Westbrook is out

average wins

Karl with Carmelo - 50 wins per season

Spoelstra with Wade- 45 wins per season.

Well, yeah they're playing the Rockets. OKC is fortunate that it happened this round for sure.

The problem is OKC is pretty thin at guard. Chris Paul will eat this team alive.

As a Rocket fan I was watching. This will kill their chances. Even still with Westbrook, although they had close games with the Heat, I believe Miami had the head<>head series, but only by a game or two.

Really sorry to see Westbrook out; what incredible speed.

You do realize have Westbrook, arguably the biggest ballhog in the playoffs?

He'll cost them 2 games by himself in the series.

Once the upset happens, it'll be amazing.

sucks, hope he gets better.

Of course now people will say the Clippers won because of injuries instead of being better.

By your logic, shouldn't the Thunder win now?
