You don't lose a game because of one play. We still were up by 1 pt at that point in the game. I would blame the loss more on the turnover with a minute left and the missed rebound with 29 seconds left.
Did the refs miss the block on Craft. Yes.
Was it a bad call. Yes
Was it a close call. Yes
Was it the reason we lost the game. NO!
Fred's play draw ups at the end of halves/games for the most part have been terrible this season. He's ridiculously awesome for 38 minutes. The last minute of each half on the other hand....
For example, the drawup for the last play of the game today? Hey! Let's throw Lucious the ball 75 feet away from the hoop and hope he can turn around and throw it far enough without getting blocked! That was absolutely awful.

We lost the game because of fans like you...if you are for real.....and the fact you do not understand basketball or the political element with referees and fan bases. We lost the game because of nallen34 and all the other medocrity-accepting, bobbing head clappers. That call was the game. That call did not happen in the first half. With your twisted non-logic, Iowa State lost the game because of the first two shots they missed in the first half because that was 4 points and we lost by 3. ?!?!?!?!? Do you get it at all???? With less than a minute and a referee decides to do what they did....it is no accident. They were NOT going to give us any call that endangered their career. I don't know what else to say....except GFY if you do not see this.

Oh geez, one of these guys. Well, let's put it this way. I'd like to see a statistician's analysis of what our chances of winning that game are if we get the bucket and free throw at that point, versus our chances of winning with the bucket wiped off the board. I bet the swing there is huge.
Yes, it was not like the botched call in the KU game that literally decided the outcome. We still had other chances. But it was a critical botched call in just about the most critical point in the game. It was enormously impactful.
Ohio State scored the last 4 points of the game after the missed call.
This... up 1 under a minute, up 4 under a minute... pretty monster difference... it sure didn't help...
It is possible that things may have been different if we get the call and go up four, our guys are pumped and thinking they are on the edge of victory instead of having a deflating call go against them. Of course nobody will know for sure now.
Exactly, the blown call swung the odds of winning the game away from us I think, but it was not out of reach by any stretch of the imagination. And if ISU gets a bucket instead of turning the ball over after that, OSU is going for the tie and not the win. If ISU grabs that rebound at the end, they have the shot at the last shot. The call hurt, but ISU could of overcome it...
There was so much that went on in that game to blame it on one call. First of all, it was a very hard call to make. His foot was "over" the restricted line, and although he slid over while Clyburn was in the air he appeared set. Certainly with the benefit of replay we can say with certainty it was the wrong call, but at full speed it was certainly close.
Second, there are a million things we could have done better, and things that we got lucky they didn't do so well. We missed a bunch of bunnies in the first half. We got it to within 1 and then gave up a 10-0 run. We had other mistakes in the end of the game. At the end of the day, you just have to take it for what it was-- a great game. We have come so far and are certainly on the upswing.
Great year.
