***OFFICIAL: TT @ ISU Predictions thread***

49-17 Cyclones win. We will force 4 turnovers and have at least one pick-6. A Hillbilly TTU fan will cause a huge accident on I-35 after emptying his chew spitter while driving.

here's Ubben's pick:

Texas Tech 41, Iowa State 28: This is just a painful pick. I've already been burned once by doubting Paul Rhoads, but I underestimated the craptitude that is Iowa's offense. Steele Jantz is better and gives the Red Raiders a good test, but even with the weak early schedule, I'm starting to believe a little bit in this Red Raiders team. I'm not buying this defense yet, but the offense will be back to its usual self as long as it stays healthy. For now, that's the case. Too much depth. Too much speed. Tommy Tuberville's best offensive line yet gives ISU's front four all kinds of problems.

Iowa State: 42
Texas Tech: 17

Your laughable schedule against cupcake city will hurt you once you play on the road in front a real crowd (not texas state) and a real team (not FCS or dead last FBS teams). go state!

The Raggie defense comes crashing back to reality when they find out impressive stats against the bottom feeders of college football means nothing against Big XII competition.

ISU 48 - Raggies 20

Bye weeks suck. I'm sick of talking about this game and ready for the damn thing to just start. Having said that:

I think ISU will jump out to a two score lead and then give it back with a couple turnovers. The D will make a couple big 4th quarter stops, and Jantz will find a way to get enough points on the board to get a tough conference W. ISU 23 TTU 20.

I don't know what the final score will be, but this is one of those games that they need to win. Two game winning streak against them and playing at home. TT is a program that needs to be passed or maintained as passed in the conference for ISU to continue to progress. Lose this game and good chance they will be at the bottom tier again in the conference this year and probably next year. I ll throw a score out there, 27-24 ISU.

I must confess that every time I read this I hear it in this guy's voice:

mostly close calls on the thread. i don't think the scoring will be quite as high as some are predicting, but turnovers could change that in a hurry. i predict 24-17 Cyclones and Raggies pick up a late meaningless touchdown.

Their defense is not very good if you watch some highlights or saw one of their games (despite the bloated ranking) and I think our D sees a good deal of success against them. 34-17 cyclones, with a defensive TD mixed in.

Jantz goes 2td - 1int - 200+ through the air
shontrelle and white get busy and rush for 200+
kirby kicks it like a boss, but only has to kick twice (pins both inside the 15)
Defense feasts, wins turnover battle and gets a couple of sacks
