looking at that mock makes me believe royce will for sure be a first rounder next year. look at all the 6'8 230 lb PF's getting drafted. patric young in the late first round and herb pope in the early second round among others. And royce is 6'8 270lb's!! And I guarantee he is a better ball handler and passer than pope and young and he's just as good a rebounder as them.
Also I see a lot of similarities between royce and draymond green of MSU. Both undersized PF's that are great passers and solid ball handlers except green has developed a solid 3 point and mid range game and green is projected early 2nd.
Anyways if royce does develop a 3 pointer andd mid range game he will be a top 20 pick next year.
Most college basketball fans that do not care about the NBA at all do not realize that the NBA will draft guys purely on potential. Forget about being ready to contribute right away, NBA teams will try to develop the players.

Fred will sit down with him and give him the lay of the land. If Fred feels he is ready Fred will tell him to go.
I think we are seeing that Fred is not only a great judge of talent, but also has the coaching skills to know how Royce would fair with NBA defenses.

I believe he will stay another year......but scouts do see him as the eventual second coming of Anthony Mason (skills wise)
I just really hope that if Royce stays CFH doesn't try to give him the "Brackins treatment" and just play him mostly on the perimeter to show off his outside game for NBA scouts.

ME is much more valuable than people give him credit for. He goes as hard as anyone, is always in the right spot, and plays very good D even though he is usually undersized. And considering its only his second year of D1 bball, I think ME will be a big and bigger factor going forward. Like a Tyray Peason, NBA talent? not quite, but not that far off either.
With that said Niang, Booker, and Gibson are all right there too. Having options makes me downright giddy.
Royce needs to stay. Needs to work on his jump shot. Once he gets that down he will be good to go.
I think the comparison to Fizer is very fitting. Fizer had the strength and skillset to dominate in college, but when he went to the NBA he ended up a tweener. Too bulky and too poor of a shot for a 3 and too short for a 4.
I'm not sure, but I think the only thing that Royce has up on Fizer is that he has better ball handling skills.
If RW was 6'10, he would be a lock for the NBA.
Personally, I think he stays for at least one if not two more years.
That's the part that scares me the most. Royce oozes potential. I think he would get drafted if he decided to go, but I think he would benefit from another year because of the deep draft. Like lottery pick type benefit.
Just don't think they compare. Fizer was a post player all the way and when he got to the next level he wasn't big enough for that position. Royce handles the ball and sees the court like no big guy I've seen. Sure his shooting needs to come around but he actually shoots it pretty good when he's not standing on the free throw line. With his skills he could play at the next level for quite some time.
