He could be a hell of a HS coach for all I care, but the thought of hiring a HS coach to be the Defensive backs coach in the pass happy Big 12 is .....well it appears insane[/Q
Particularly when he does not seem to be a fit for one of our recruiting areas either (ie. California, Texas or Florida). Unless we are hiring Jerry Rice as our WR coach, the last two coaching hire decisions just don't seem to jive with the we have got more money to spend on assistants announcement.

If true, .......WTF?

I'll let CPR do his job.
I care about "competencies" and I want to hear from people who can assess his competencies as a DB coach. There is really no reason to discuss anything else.
All the graduate assistant spots are filled, I'm guessing he will be a volunteer.
One thing you have to admire about CPR-It's painfully obvious that he doesn't give a **** how a hire looks to the public.

I'll take CPR's assessment over yours anyday. Based on his body of work thus far, questioning CPR is .....well it appears insane.Exactly.
We have a GA spot open. Nick Caley left this week to be the DB coach as Eastern Illinois.
Babers also has brought in coaches Nick Caley (secondary),
Exactly.

I will respect your opinion but this has no basis in fact -- none!A high school coach worthy of being a Big 12 coach doesn't go two years without winning. I could see maybe being .500, but not winning any games tells me you are not a good coach. That said, something is weird here because he's been there 10 years, had very little success and still has a job.

And why should he? He knows what he wants to do and can spot the people he needs to hire to make it happen.
I don't care what the guys HS coaching record is because it has nothing to do with coaching ISU Db's. They are two completely different jobs that require 2 different skill sets.
