Open Positions on FB Staff?

according to head cyclone athletic janitor I CEMORE BUTTS ,the former cedar rapids high school football coach will be relegated to handling floor sweeping under bleachers
at JACK TRICE stadium...

Still not excited. Hopefully its nothing more than Messingham doing a favor for an old buddy and he's gone by August.

When I student taught with him, the position he was offered at Iowa was a volunteer position. He wasn't able to take that for a number of reasons. I would not be surprised if this is the same situation. Looking at it, it doesnt make sense to bring Womo on as a member of the paid staff. However, it would be an excellent opportunity for someone who would want to get into the college ranks to start as a volunteer and hopefully land somewhere from this experience.

And, hey, if he comes in and shows he can do some things, pay him. I have no problem with that. I just thought, initially, that we could find someone who brought a little more experience to the table.

I heard this morning that Womochil will be coaching tight ends. I would assume that means Luke Wells will be moving back to receivers. Not sure how legit my "sources" are, but that's what I was told. Probably a safer move than giving him the entire defensive backfield, but an interesting hire nonetheless. I believe the last Iowa high school coach to get a D1 job was Reese Morgan, who had just won his 3rd state title. Now Womochil, who was 22-78 at Jefferson. Best of luck to Womo and the Clones

I ran into a few of Jefferson's football players and asked about this situation and they told me that Womochil said he will be back at Jefferson next fall as a football coach but not the head football coach. Who knows what to believe about this hire but it certainly doesn't seem as though Womochil was given a paid position or is being considered as a full-time member of the staff?

Nope. He's a volunteer coach.

Now I have heard that Womochil is not going to be at Iowa State...strange story and probably not very important in regards to Iowa State football. Wonder if he found a position somewhere else? Anyone know this guy?

I student taught with him.
