Iowa Basketball

What is so hard to understand about the fact that Iowa made 21 of 58 shots, Creighton made 32 of 58. That right there is the difference in the game. Iowa lost by 23 and this is a 24 point difference. As Creighton made 2 more three's = 6 points and 9 more two's = 18 points.

If Creighton misses just 5 more shots and Iowa makes 5 more layups they missed this is a totally different game.

Again, not many if any teams will win shooting 35% while their opponent shoots 55%.

This is the funniest thing I've ever read. If it wasn't so long I'd put it as my signature. Don't you think defense has something to do with that? And doesn't defense have to do with talent? And don't talented players get better looks which in turn makes their percentage go up? It all comes down to who is the better team and who has more talent. Creighton in a landslide.

What you don't understand is that Iowa shoots 35% from the field a lot. B/c they aren't athletic and teams defend them very easy. The Creighton game was the norm for Iowa

I think they call that playing good defense, which Iowa didn't seem to do against Creighton. You can spin it all you want, but it doesn't change the fact you got schooled by CU.

Iowa's MBB program is garbage and Fran is mediocre on his best day. Saying anything otherwise is denial.

I fully expect them to be even worse this season, teams are going to eat them alive inside and they don't have a single guy that scares anyone from a range standpoint. Christ, Royce White has more physical strength inside than that entire team combined.

I'm fairly sure I was told I was an idiot for this about 10 times over when I posted it. I thought this might be a fitting time to bring it back up.

Classic self serving "I told you so" post.

Who do we substitute for Campbell?

I would say Northern Colorado, but since ISU made a school record three pointers to pull out that win I guess we can't.

I guess I was wrong, I honestly thought both programs would be improved this year and while they still might be it doesn't appear either one is right now.

Don't even try bringing ISU into that pathetic loss.

We also won by 10 and the game was never in question vs losing by 15 to the fighting soup cans. Not even close to comparable.

So congrats, let's face it both teams are going to struggle again this year.

Winning by 8 at home (90-82) against the team ranked 197th in the RPI might not be as bad as losing by 16 at home against the team ranked 44th in the RPI, but I don't think there is that much difference. Again neither team is very good so I let me say it, Iowa sucks worse then ISU sucks but both teams will again be sitting at home come March after conference tournaments as neither makes the NCAA or NIT.

Iowa's loss last night was bad, but it seems like proper credit isn't being given for how bad of a loss ours was to Drake. I was excited for the season going in, but when our guys lost that game, it really tempered my enthusiasm. Now I'm in full on "wait and see" mode to see if we can find a suitable point guard on the team. If there isn't one, its gonna be a long year.

You guys should probably shut the hell up until ISU plays Iowa. We've seen our team show the ability to play poorly, and if they do it against Iowa, they'll lose.

Huge difference between isu and Iowa. Talent! Iowa doesn't have much. Isu still has a shot to right the ship. Iowa is what they are.

ISU was dominating that game and then decided again not to play any defense (a concern). Iowa was never in the game against Soup U.

I agree completely. That's why I'm looking forward to the future.
Not surprised by Iowa struggles when they start 4 of 5 players from last year.

As for ISU, if they don't play defense against Iowa, it could be a close game

24 points of difference. Difference between winning and getting crushed.

Iowa has lost their last 2 games by a total of a bout 40 to Creighton and the Camels. That total could easily have been 50+

Iowa was never "in the game" against Campbell? Campbell didn't extend the lead to double digits until the last couple minutes of the game. Iowa was within single digits pretty much the whole game.
