The exit fee for MO will be higher than aTm because TCU came aboard and now WVU now may be stuck till 2014 in the BE. Fox and ESPN does not want only 9 teams as their agreement was for 12 teams. I would hate top see Big 12 lose $100M because MOP left the game early.Maybe M<OP can play in both leagues at same time till WVU is cleared. I project that we will see MO next year in Ames.

Two completely different things. The Big East lost Miami, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and now add Pitt and Syracuse to that mix. Basically they lost any team that was worth a **** in that conference and replaced them with mid-major programs. Now they are looking to add even more mid-major programs in an attempt to make the conference have enough members to continue on. West Virginia didn't sign up to be in a mid major conference.
Mizzou on the other hand is having a crappy season in the Big XII this year because as a collective the Big XII still has plenty of quality programs. They can't argue the point because the Big XII has not lost any prestige in all of this. In fact... with the loss of Nebraska, Colorado, and A&M the conference is now stronger then it has ever been. Adding TCU and West Virginia to the mix is a huge upgrade. Mizzou wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they tried to argue that point. West Virginia on the other hand has an excellent case.
Big East Update...Big East going after BYU hard...I like the note at the bottom. Basically says Big East is planning on TV payouts of at least 7.5 million per school per year. If that's all they got it will probably end up being less than 1/2 of other BCS conferences when the dust settles.

The C-USA schools are ready to make the move and Navy also seems to be leaning heavily toward joining, the person said.
Air Force has been non-committal about leaving the Mountain West, and that is part of the reason why such focus has been placed on adding BYU, the person said.
BYU’s television deals could complicate the process.
Part of the Big East’s recruiting pitch has been that the new members would stand to make substantially more in television revenue by joining the league.
Boise State President Bob Kustra estimated the annual payout to Big East football members at $3.7 million under its current TV contract, compared to the $1.9 million projected as the top payout in the Mountain West. Big East officials believe the league will be able to more than double payouts to members with the league’s next TV deal.

Gotta remember though, the exit fees have NOTHING to do with the timing on when WVU joins up. There was some concern that IF WVU could not join the B12 in 2012, and IF as a result of only having 9 teams the networks chose to void the TV contracts, then MU could potentially be liable for the lost revenue.
However, since both WVU and the Big 12 expect the Mountaineers to participate next year, then it's reasonable for Missouri and the SEC to expect that as well. WVU's acceptance into the Big 12 ought to clear Mizzou from any liability, since they were officially added BEFORE MU withdrew from the conference.
MU and TAMU will pay (roughly) the same exit fees, since both withdrew in the "6 to 12 months notice" window in the bylaws.
The only way MU ends up in Ames next year is if the university jet is hijacked by Veisha rioters. :smile:
Didn't read Mizzoulander's reply after the first sentence. I'm sure it has something to say like, "Our ZOU chant will allow us to void all exit fees." New upgrade in the rock M rock garden will leave Nienas so in awe that any potential exit fee will be exactly equal dollar amount no matter what year you leave because 9 months notice is the same as 33 months notice to us.

I am sure WVU will get out of the Big East. Money talks. And how embarassing would it be for the Big East to have WVU win the Big East title the rest of the time they are in the league. They will look like an even bigger doormat than they appear to be.
As far as the Exit Fees. Money is NOT an issue according to you. So the Big 12 is expecting the Exit Fees as outlined in the by-laws. NO Negotiation. Cut and dried. Just make out the check. Bye-bye.

The obvious candidate is Louisville.
I think the not-so-obvious candidate we should pursue is UK. I would like to bring in a football team we can beat more often than not. It would strengthen basketball even more. And also bring in a great regionall rival with Louisville.
I think UK would have a little more football success in the Big 12 than the SEC. (2 or 3 conference wins versus 1 or 2)
