I have always thought (and most I-State fans too) since CPR has taken over that we were turning the corner, and this weekend I think the Hawks finally saw what we have been talking about. We are playing good football. The kids play hard, they are resilliant, and its fun football to watch. Iowa fans have taken notice, they see that things are changing, in their eyes, this is the first time in a long time we have "actually won the game", not just get a few bounces and happen to be ahead at the end. We took it to them, from the opening kick straight through OT, and that scares the living daylight out of them. We have a fiery coach who everyone loves, Kirk is a likeable guy, but now seems to be old news. We are making stadium and atmosphere improvements (with more on the way IMO).
I just really feel like we are turning the corner, and becoming closer and closer to getting on the same level as Iowa, and may eventually pass them up as the premier team in the state.
Am I crazy? Does anyone else feel this way?
