I think Jon Miller would literally take a bullet for Kirk Ferentz.
I read the HN boards every once in awhile. And I did read where he offered a reason for banning you at the end of it. I don't remember what it was, but he made it sound like you, or someone said something slanderous. Whatever, Its his site, and if he wants to only have beergoggled opinions about everything hawkeye then so be it.
I do not post there because I probably would not have anything constructive to add, and the hawk fans would get under my skin too easily. I do like to go and read every once in awhile about anything random that may be there.
Miller actually gave a quick explanation why he deleted another person's post... this was not mine. He gave no reason for my alleged slander..
Who elses SB is Miller going to TJ if Ferentz is gone?
This.
Every Cyclone who posts over there makes us look like huge d-bags. With regard to the Hawkeyes, ignorance really is bliss. Stop worrying about them in any way, shape or form and your life will be much better, I promise.
Meh, it's a hawk board. You won't miss it.
I normally do not post things, but recently a friend sent me this link, which is a Jon Miller essay about how wonderful Kirk Ferentz is.
Here's Why I am an Ardent Ferentz Supporter - HawkeyeNation Forum
After reading it, I added a post on hawkeyenation under this thread stating:
"Every college program does service work for the community that the university is located and every coach does special PR for deserving families. It is wonderful that this special attention was given to this deserving family, but please do not make Ferentz out to be some sort of saint..."
Within minutes, my post was deleted from the thread and when I tried to log back in using my log on, I received the message that I had been banned for no specific reason and the ban would never be lifted..
I could see this type of action if I was inflammatory or inappropriate in some way, but for giving an opinion?
I guess Jon Miller never wants to hear anything negative about his idol....
First time there and my last time there....
This.

Whether they look like d-bags to you or me is irrelevant. Hawk fans do not understand logic because it flies in the face of the delusional existence they've created for themselves. In fact, I would say the more cordial, realistic and logical you are the bigger the d-bag you will be perceived to be by them, whether they come out and attack you or not.Yaman and Cydcar answering recruiting questions makes us look like d-bags?
Better not talk bad about dumb **** Jon Miller because he will berate you on his Radio show for the next week............ Wait
Never mind and Carry on.
He's a hack
Yeah right. You can't stay away from the sheer awesomeness that is Hawkeye Nation. You can try. But I can guarantee you'll be going back for more.
As far as every college program doing this...I have a very close friend who recently lost his wife. Prior to her death, she was invited to ISU by one of GMac's staff when they heard of her condition. My friends had actually helped set up some basketball camps in this area. My friend and his family received similar treatment as to what you described and meet both basketball staffs(men's and women's) as well as numerous players. The kicker is, a year later, my friend and his family were at a women's game and Coach Fennelly addressed my friend by his first and last name. My friend was not only blown away that BF remembered him but that he remembered his name as well as his kids. Very impressive.I normally do not post things, but recently a friend sent me this link, which is a Jon Miller essay about how wonderful Kirk Ferentz is.

Oh please! That is no where near as impresive as what the fluffer for Captain Kirk wrote. As far as every college program doing this...I have a very close friend who recently lost his wife.
