Can we see the scoreboard renderings PLEASE?

Did I miss something? Was there some announcement that anything besides a new scoreboard is going to happen? A handful of people have mentioned bowling in, new FB buildings, etc. Is this based on anything at all, or just people with their heads in the clouds?
No announcement because it is coontingent on the Big 12's new TV contract. both Pollard and CPR have "leaked" that the football facility and bowling in will most likely happen is the contract is as big as it looks. Both Pollard and CPR have "leaked" that a new football only facility would begin after this season and be done by next season and South endzone would follow.

Again, nothing official nore will there be anything official until
  1. The new Big 12 contract is finalized
  2. The BOR approves

Wow, okay. I had indeed missed that. I've been out of the loop since early January. Do we "know" anything else? Actually, where would they even put a new football building?

One correction... I believe the football only facility isn't contingent on the new contract and is actaully a result of ISU's share of nebraska and CU leaving and could start as soon as this year.

As far as "where" the football facility goes. Nothing but rumors. Some have said the parking lot between the IPF and the Olsen/Jacobsen building and others have said west of the IPF and it will be multilevel. It will for sure be connected to the IPF.

There's no sign of any activity around the stadium.

There are no renderings.

There has been no official announcement/acknowledgment since the BOR meeting where it was approved.

Other facilities have been discussed, albeit behind closed doors.

Football and basketball season are over and we're bored.

It is also still not technically spring for another few weeks...

Keg Party?

Wow...16 hours later this pic is still here. Where are the Mods to protect this family friendly site?

Paul Rhoads said it.

A couple of points from me:

1. As far as I know, ISU hasn't decided on a scoreboard yet. I had heard that they were choosing between two different options, but then people have said that they are having a hard time figuring out how to support the scoreboard since they can't use the Jacobson Building for support. It's got to be a huge structure to withstand the wins that blows from the north. I wouldn't expect this scoreboard to be up and operational until midway through the season, if not AFTER the season. Good thing they aren't pulling the old scoreboard yet.

2. The Cyclone Sports Complex (softball, soccer, T&F) is moving forward. It goes to the BoR for approval a week from Wednesday. Construction will start this summer and finish before the fall 2012 semester starts.

3. The "Football Practice Facility" is full steam ahead. I know that they have said that losing 2 conference members will pay for it, but I would guess that today's news about the Fox TV package will give them just the insurance that they need to move forward. We've seen bits and pieces about this from stories, interviews and events. Evidently, they have renderings and plans done. I've seen a recruit say "$1M worth of weights alone". CPR mentions it here: ISU Football (under the Program tab, click "Intro to Cyclone Football"). This building is scheduled to go to the BoR in June and start work in July to be finished before the 2012 season. I would bet that they come out with a fundraising drive in the next few weeks. IMO it WILL go between the IPF and the Olsen Building in 85W. My only question is how they will get the players from there to the stadium on gameday. They can't exactly walk across an open parking lot and through people lining up at the ticket gate.

4. South Endzone - I think that Fox announcement is what they were waiting for on the endzone as well. It wouldn't surprise me if they started work on this right after the season. But it also wouldn't surprise me if they waited a year and had it ready to go for the 2013 season. I think that both the South Endzone and the new FB building will require major lead donors ($5M-$10M), but I have a feeling that those donors are out there and probably on board already. The FB building would have a nice naming opportunity attached with it, since it would basically be the new Jake.

There is no movement towards a bowled south endzone. CPR was taken out of context at some engagement. This project will take a major donation to commit to this project. Until that happens we will not get a bowled south endzone.

I believe the scoreboard has to be presented to the BOR because of the extra price tag that is needed to get this installed. (Was previously underpriced apparently)

I think that the Football-only facility is the highest project on the table behind the scoreboard.

All of this information given to me in confidence and may have changed, so not opening a debate on the validity. If you choose not to believe me, that's ok, doesn't bother me.

the scoreboard will be here by fall, though, right?

Too early to know I think, but the approval from the BOR should give us a better idea. My guess is that it will be done this year, but I would be surprised if it will be done before the Big XII season.
