With the days passing I doubt there will be time for any preference polling of fans before construction begins. That is fine, but let's see the thing and get moving!

Yup.. This will get far with ISU. And since when did ISU poll their fans on something like this???

hmmmmmmm

Well there was that one time they wanted help with music between the 3rd and 4th qtr... Think the fans chose Sweet Caroline. That was a success.

Don't forget the epic failure that almost became white helmets. Thankfully, the fans ******* loud enough to avoid Tejas helmets.

Guess I did forget about that.... Thank god we didn't do white helmets.

I don't see ISU having fans vote on something like the scoreboard. I think they will take the word of both Darktronics and whoever assembles it.

Is the scoreboard still going in this year? I was under the assumption it was delayed and would go in with the other facilities after this season.

I was wondering that too.

Wonder how long it would take to do the construction.

Seems like a situation where it all goes in at once is more economical and leaves the stadium "torn up" for less time. Personally, I'd rather see it all go up at once. Having the same company build it ensures that the architecture will match and that consistent materials will be used throughout the entire project.

What's one more year? We've waited this long.

Pollard said this past fall on the basketball call in show that the scoreboard would be ready for this fall 2011 with construction beginning this spring...He also said that removing the south scoreboard now would allow the bowling of the end zone to be completed in one off season instead of two. I haven't heard any official word contradict this yet, has there been?

Nothing official to contradict that at all. Not sure where some people are hearing this, or even how this started..

There's no sign of any activity around the stadium.

There are no renderings.

There has been no official announcement/acknowledgment since the BOR meeting where it was approved.

Other facilities have been discussed, albeit behind closed doors.

Football and basketball season are over and we're bored.

Getting up the board may not take all that long though, so that may not be indicative of a late start.

There's a regents meeting coming up on the 23rd, i wonder if we'll hear more then.

I have always expected the renderings and stuff to come out in the doldrums of the offeseason, not this close to mens basketball postseason. I would also expect them to wait to start working until the ground thaws completely.

I would be ****** though if they had 30 plus weeks to finish and they took until the 2nd week of the season to have it finished.

There's no sign of any activity around the stadium. There wouldn't be yet. Ground is still fairly hard after the first ft or so. Not exactly construction season yet.

There are no renderings. There is a person on this board and it was brought up in earlier threads on this. There are renderings that ISU has seen along with the company. Nothing has gone public yet or decided on

There has been no official announcement/acknowledgment since the BOR meeting where it was approved.Nothing official except Pollard discussing this at length on several coaches call in show. Not really seeing the need for an official announcement besides Pollard.

Other facilities have been discussed, albeit behind closed doors. Same as the scoreboard. Many different things out there, info leaked by either Pollard or CPR

Football and basketball season are over and we're bored. I'm bored too... But if I wanted to rehash this topic yet again... I would do a search and bring up a previous thread. Just an idea though.

I can wait a year if it means doing it all at once next year.

Scoreboard, bowling in the stadium, & new FB bldg would be HUGE and all maybe done in a single offseason.

Did I miss something? Was there some announcement that anything besides a new scoreboard is going to happen? A handful of people have mentioned bowling in, new FB buildings, etc. Is this based on anything at all, or just people with their heads in the clouds?
