How awesome is this.....

I don't mind this play as much as other "trick" plays. The line is set, the center shotgun snaps the ball, why is everyone still standing around?

Totally agree, nothing unsportsmanlike here, just taking advantage of the other team not paying attention. Too bad for the other team that only one of their guys realized the ball was live!

All credit in the world for the CB playing it for what it was. Imagine if he actually had some safety help over the top...

Why were the defense linemen just standing there? If that ball was snapped i would of busted right through the O-line.

what are some trick plays that are unsportsmanlike?

Wrong ball play. Personally I have no problem with it (the play is so viral now there's no excuse not being ready for it), but a lot of people think it's not within the spirit of the game, even if it's clearly within the rules (at least in some states).

Apparently in Texas. IIRC, from my playing days in Iowa, you had to at least have your hands/elbows on knees.

Are you talking about just interior linemen? Because skill positions obviously don't adhere to this rule (WR hands in front or at their side, stand up TE, RB etc.)

The wrong ball play (or similar plays) are busch league when used in Pee Wee and Jr High. High school is okay with me. This play is just the defense being incredibly unaware of what is going on. I still cant figure out what the Dline was doing...

I can support this opinion. I ragged on some doofus on that comment section that was complaining about the play but now that you mention it, and that I've seen some little kids on youtube running it, I would agree that its not very nice of a coach to do to 12 year olds. In HS, you should probably know better, if not, you lose.

The center was set and snapped the ball. In HS you should know that the play is live. This would have been underhanded if it was pop warner, but not in HS.

when my son was in 8th grade they had a trick play that was so simple and yet it still had everyone in their set position. they had a two qb system and ran one of them into the huddle as an athlete. when they broke the huddle the coach yelled at him (of course the fastest man on the field) as if there were too many men on the field and he ran towards the sideline. the qb had the ball snapped and the offensive line didn't move which totally caught the defense off guard and the athlete simply just sprinted up the field as the qb took one step back and lofted the ball up for the young man to run underneath it...touchdown! It worked two more times in this game and once in 9th grade.

Now, that's a trick play!
