I don't mind this play as much as other "trick" plays. The line is set, the center shotgun snaps the ball, why is everyone still standing around?
Totally agree, nothing unsportsmanlike here, just taking advantage of the other team not paying attention. Too bad for the other team that only one of their guys realized the ball was live!
I take it that you can be "set" even when standing?
what are some trick plays that are unsportsmanlike?
Apparently in Texas. IIRC, from my playing days in Iowa, you had to at least have your hands/elbows on knees.
Hahaha that defense player was no dumby. He knew what was going on. Thats awesome.I like them when the trick plays end up like this:
YouTube - Wrong Ball Trick Play in football gone bad
The wrong ball play (or similar plays) are busch league when used in Pee Wee and Jr High. High school is okay with me. This play is just the defense being incredibly unaware of what is going on. I still cant figure out what the Dline was doing...
As long as you are "set" and on the line of scrimmage I don't think it matters. We always had our tight ends standing straight up.Apparently in Texas. IIRC, from my playing days in Iowa, you had to at least have your hands/elbows on knees.
