What horse manure. proof that the NCAA and SEC are on the take. I say revoke NCAA tax exempt status and bring it all into the light. Allow students the ability to be paid for endorsements like Olympic athletes.

My guess is the FBI will have a cleaner solution. They will take Cam's dad down to send a clear and ugly message to the parents and handlers of these kids. I can also see some merit in that approach.I think this is what will ultimately happen but I don't think it has anything to do with the NCAA making money. I think it has everything to do with what they can or can't prove and the fact that the FBI is involved and may be slowing the process down.
The NCAA has to make sure they can prove things and they don't have court ordered power like the FBI and police. That is why their investigations take longer

So if I offered my neighbor $10k to off my wife for me but he declined, I didn't technically do anything wrong?Does anyone have evidence that Auburn paid for him? Again, my guess is that they will let the FBI send the message when the FBI takes Cam's dad down. The FBI has a bit more overall muscle than the NCAA!The NCAA had a great opportunity to send a strong message to the people that are shopping these athletes, but their decision reinforces a perception that money is what that organization is all about.
Reinstatement decisions are independent of the NCAA enforcement process and typically are made once the facts of the student-athlete’s involvement are determined. The reinstatement process is likely to conclude prior to the close of an investigation. It is NCAA policy not to comment on current, pending or potential investigations.
Shhh that would not fit into the NCAA/SEC conspircay plan.Does anyone have evidence that Auburn paid for him? Until that comes out, the only thing is that Cecil was shopping him to Miss St. That is a violation but since he didn't go there we must assume he did not take the money from them. The fact that he was shopped to MSU in the first place makes him ineligible to play ANYWHERE, not just at MSU.
Someone want to post the NCAA Reg for me? I'm too lazy to go search for it...

That and the FBI can gather evidence a lot easier than they NCAA. Who cares if you lie to the NCAA but if you lie to the FBI you go to jail. There is a reason these investigations take so long and it is because the NCAA has no legal authority. It doesn't hurt one bit to lie to the NCAA unless you get caught (Dez Bryant).Again, my guess is that they will let the FBI send the message when the FBI takes Cam's dad down. No, it's a violation but not a suspendable offense.
Because obviously that is a similar situation. Besides that there is no proof the money was offered. There is proof that it was talked about and requested by Cecil Newton, but there is nothing that says that Miss St. was going to do it. I'm sorry, but I refuse to hop on the bandwagon of this thing without having some sort of eveidence that Auburn or Cam were in the wrong. Cecil Newton was in the wrong as far as we know. Just because our ex coach who some seem to have an infatuation with could be in some trouble doesn't mean we totally look over the severe lack of evidence in relation to Cam or Auburn. If it comes out and there is evidence that they were in the wrong, fine. Then I will have no problem running this kid through the mud, but right now I can't and won't do it. There has been a lot more harm done by running him through the mud in the case he is actually innocent than there will be good done by running him through the mud in the case he is guilty. Honestly, what if you are Cam Newton and you have never heard any of this stuff until this point? Is it really fair?
Exactly, how long did it take to get throughthe Reggie Bush crapola...3-4 years? Before we get too upset at the NCAA:

I personally don't have too high of hopes for this situation to not end as a farce, but the story isn't finished yet.

According to the CBSsportsline article: NCAA rules generally state that if a parent solicits money from a school for a child's commitment, that athlete is ineligible wherever he attends.
