NCAA: Cam Newton eligible

Lucca didn't know about it and he got a year suspension.

And that wasn't even about him, it was about a couple teammates on an otherwise average team taking a few hundred bucks.

There is so much inconsistency here it's not even funny.

I get the poster saying Cam is good and should play and he wants to see him play. Let's just be consistent. Auburn can't run an NFL franchise paying Heisman candidates while ISU gets pounded into oblivion for trying to get an average player eligible who has never taken a dime to play hoops.

THIS!!!! We can't stop Cam from playing BECAUSE WE CAN'T PROOF HE KNEW about it. But, sure at ISU who we ALWAYS rule against, let's screw the foreign kid EVEN IF HE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT AND HE WASN'T EVEN involved in the payment.

Great read on ESPN.com

NCAA exposes loophole with Cam Newton eligibility ruling - ESPN

Basically, you can shop these guys around without any real penalty, so long as the player doesn't know? Right. So now, star recruit's parents and some random booster can make deals and exchange some cash and there'll be little to no punishment involved! Awesome...

If you were the parent of a big time recruit, why wouldn't you ask for money? I'm sure there are lots of boosters out there that would cut a quick $10 grand check to secure a commitment. And hey it won't affect your son's eligibility at all, so what's the harm in it?

So when Cam says he wanted to go to Miss St, but his dad was going to make the final decision and then changed it up to Auburn, Cam had no clue as to why my ***.
