in the last two years KSU or ISU?
Both coaches hired at the same time.
KSUs offense is Thomas and Thomas only? Snyder recruited him. ISU on the offensive side actually lacks less (qb) as he does not fit the spread offense.Ask me that question two years from now after both teams have played 6 games and you will receive an answer based on better evidence. Both coaches are playing kids they did not recruit and kids that are far from ideal for their systems.

Thomas was a Ron Prince recruit but did not qualify scholastically. He attended another year of juco to attempt to qualify but still had to go to summer school at four year school to gain admission. Snyder looked at his films and decided he wanted him as a QB. When he arrived last fall, Snyder realized he did not have an accurate enough arm to play QB and moved him to running back.
KSU is only because their line blocks well and they have an outstanding RB that can do it all. Synder also understands how to playcall a game.
Thomas is AP, ARob is Kevin Faulk.Even if he had a pretty decent arm, he looks like the PROTOTYPE running back. I'm no NFL scout, but I can't imagine him not being able to rush at the next level.
Obviously they can't run him every single play, but that backup #20 looks pretty good. If they'd have passed even less than they did and spelled Thomas with #20 running more instead of spelling Thomas by passing I think the game is not as close.
The one pass play that was successful for KSU really should have been a penalty against KSU instead of a gain.

I asked a question, but I never answered my own question...Do you forget that Bill Snyder has coached before??? At KSU too???
CPR is in his 2nd year ever as a head coach. He is still learning things.
Why is this so flippin hard for Cyclone fans. I would think an experience coach like Snyder would turn a program around faster. Wow our fans are stupid.
Yes, Bill Snyder is getting old. He is 70. Most people do not realize how much of the game planning and play calling at KSU is done by Dana Dimel, co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach. He spends game days in the press box and not on the sidelines.
