Page 22 and 23 of this thread are EPIC!!

I want that on my sig.

I'm sure, similar to the cow bell player, we will soon discover that some dying child gave him that bracelet and asked him to wear it during the bowl game.

Until then though, I'm going to laugh...

first half stats
TOTAL DOMINATION by the Hawks in the first half! First downs: 11-1 Iowa. Total yards: 256-31. Pass yards: 185-0. And GT's "unstoppable" offense has 31 carries for 31 yards... But we are only up 7... This is what happens when GT plays a team that actually plays defense!!!

You sure thats not a KC Chiefs game stats??

Iowa isn't on their short list of teams to care about, no matter how good they are. Not saying it's right, but that's how these bums operate.

That's true, but if Iowa wins this game they'll be in the top 10 to start next season, and will be talked about as possible conference champs.

Please, stop saying "WE" when referring to the Hawks! I don't want to be included in that disgusting group.

Thanks

Most important stat is the score...Iowa needs to get some more points I think.

That's a good point. Maybe next year some of the people who poo-pooed Iowa all season (looking at you, Pat Forde) will actually sit down and watch Iowa play before writing about them.

Tech gets the ball to start the 2nd half, and it'll be interesting to see if Johnson has made any effective adjustments. If they can get a touchdown, game on. Iowa's offense has bogged down since those first 3 drives. Then again, any adjustments Tech will require Iowa to be out of position to be effective, but that isn't going to happen.

But they are only up by 7........

Is anyone really surprised that Iowa's defense is shutting down Georgia Tech? Seems like that was the common sense conclusion.

Agreed. So what was the GT coaching staff doing for the last month? I guess they must have expected that they were going to run over Iowa's 9-men up defense, because they certainly don't appear to have anything to counter it.

Maybe GT has some new things in store for the second half.

I think Einstein once said "insanity is trying the same thing many times and expecting different results". See Georgia Tech's offense. Earth to Paul Johnson: the dive doesn't work.

--Growing up with the Big8 and also living through Walden's triple option, it is known that the triple option is a gimic, and is most successful during the long grind of a season when teams only have 3 or 4 days to prep AND you have a superior physical presence (e.g. OU versus Kstate or Iowa state). This game was totally predictable. I wish I would have called vegas, big time. Iowa is a good defense and they had a month to prepare. In actuality, once you get a lead on an option team like Iowa did, you have your defense prepared to DRILL the QB. Forget the pitch, just punish Nesbitt...I have noticed they have failed to do this even though they are being successful. Anyway, Iowa is going to win easily. Paul Johnson is getting thoroughly out-coached.
Second case of out-coaching, the Iowa staff obviously planted several calls in the referees' minds. The chop block, the "block in back" on kick off that was a side shoulderpad. SEC referees were probably hearing from Georgia influence that does not want to see GaTech succeed in recruiting. The Refs have been absolutely one-sided. Yes, I am still bitter about MacCarney taking it like a prison-wife when other teams did this to us.....when a referee throws a hanky on a pre-meditated, influenced call you HAVE to go ballistic for your teams sake. IF this game gets close (which it won't) look for another mysterious offensive holding call against Ga Tech late which determines the outcome.

Dude thats too much to read
