5:00 or 6:00 on Tuesday morning. I have absolutely no idea where I'm going to spend the night... I'm trying to get a friend to come with me, but she's not calling me back. In that case, I'll be driving by myself. I can drive about 14-16 hours nonstop, but I'll need to sleep somewhere after that. I don't think I can make it far enough south so that it's warm enough to sleep in my car, either... I don't know what I'm gonna do.

No matter which route that you take, 14-16 hours from Des Moines will put you in cold, freezing weather. You might as well take the fast route on #54 out of Wichita and then spend the night in a motel in Tucumcari, NM. We can't afford to lose any Cyclone fans, so stay warm!

Monday at 7 from Jack Trice. We're going south to OK city and then over to Tempe.

If you take 54 west out of Wichita it will save you over 100 miles and about an hour of drive time. I just drove it today and it was a pretty good road. about 40 miles out of Wichita is 4 lane and 70 mph. then the 2 lane in Kansas is 65mph. You will hit some 4 lane in Oklahoma also with 65 mph. The good thing is there really isn't that many towns you have to go through. You come out at Tucumcari, NM and hit I-40. We are in Payson, AZ tonight which is about 80 miles from our hotel in Tempe. The last 50 miles of our drive today was absolutely beautiful country.

I would do that, but I don't really have a say in how we get there. I can't complain though, because its free!

LATE Tuesday - I like to drive at night, my mind doesn't comprehend the time very well so by the time the sun comes back up I've got a good distance already done.

I left this morning and I am in El Reno Oklahoma right now. I had hoped to get to Armarilo texas tonight. Came across a few other cyclone fans along the way. Take the route that others have said on here. I took the turnpike all the way through to 35 south in Oklahoma and it was a big mistake. Massive traffic delays took over 3 hours to get from the boarder of Oklahoma to Oklahoma City. Worst part of it was that when we finally got through there was no reason I saw for the massive traffic back up.

I am thinking the people down here are not used to the icy slick conditions(which weren't bad at all but you can tell they don't have to clear roads very often down here)

Also I checked the weather down here for tomorrow and they are supposed getting snow in Oklahoma and northern texas on tuesday.

Leaving tomorrow some time after lunch. In this family it's not worth setting a time to leave because we always end up leaving half an hour later.

I'm leaving in 3 hours... and I still need to pack. One of these days I'll get more than 2 hours of sleep before a major road trip, but it still ain't happened yet
