Fine by me, but invite the high school and family. Don't invite the rest of us. We were used to make a bigger crowd for ESPN.
Now this is a rational post, could we make this a template of some kind for people to use who may not be able to form one on their own?
Because we have been recruiting him for 4 years. He knew the program in and out. What has changed in the past 6 months about our program? Brackins decided to stay, but would have no bearing on his decision. The big boys came calling, and he folded.
compassionate? more like selfish. HB owed it to me damnit! he used the practice facility! he invited me to the press conference! how could he do this!?!?
If people were really compassionate they'd understand the decision was the best for him and support him. its OK to be happy for someone who chooses differently than you.

wow, you're clearly just hear to argue. I never stated that that was fact, I'm assuming he has known for a while that ISU was not in the cards, and this was all an effort to make us feel all warm and fuzzy before letting us down.
The rest of "us" is his hometown. He didn't invite ISU fans, he invited the entire community.
Why would something have to change in the last 6 months? It's a fairly big decision you know, could take some time. And you don't think the big boys have been recruiting him for years as well?
The community of Ames helped raise him, educate him, develop his basketball skills, now North Carolina reaps the benefits. And if he would have signed with us, poor North Carolina would have had to settle for the 2nd best player in the country. That is why this is such a ball buster.
Then you weren't there today. It looked like an ISU pep rally was about to start.
We'll just have to go out there, bust our butts, show him what he COULD have been a part of, and make him regret his choice.
He knew who would show up. The only team that got cheers when their little cards were put out was ISU. I heard Cyclone Power, but no other cheers. He used us. He was ok with ISU fans being the crowd that looks good on tv. He could have just invited the high school, but it wouldn't look as good.
He isn't classy.

why should I be happy for him or support him? I could give a crap about the kid now that he isn't going to ISU. people being compassionate for cyclone athletics and our basketball program do not owe harrison barnes anything and are fully entitled to their opinions regarding him and how they interpret his handling of the recruiting process.
It's simple. Drop ISU and a few schools off the list and invite the public. Or invite just the high school and friends. I'm sure ESPN had a hand in wanting a crowd there. But he didn't need to use ISU fans.
"Cyclone Power" is a standard Ames High "Little Cyclones" cheer. It wasn't an ISU cheer. It was followed by an AHS cheer!
