According to an MLB.com press release, the Cubs have agreed to terms with frist round pick Brett Jackson. The 20-year-old outfielder bats left-handed and received praise from Baseball America on his athleticism. The Cubs selected him with their first pick in the draft, 31st overall.

I've heard he was more of a "tools" guy rather than a "production" guy. A certain former front office guy that blogs for ESPN didn't seem to care much for him because he strikes out a ton and his OBP isn't that great.

Let's see, the Cubs have an outfielder in their system who has excellent tools but also a lack of an understanding for the strike zone. Where have I heard that before...
