Not a Giants fan, but was pumped to watch this guy throw a no hitter. He was one error away from a perfect game.

How about Rowand's great play to get the second out in the 9th? Doing what he does best, running into the wall.

Too bad he couldn't get the perfect game, San Fran has never had one.

Unfortunate it would come on an error, something that was out of his hands.

Too bad about the perfect game but a no hitter is a pretty good consolation prize. I just picked him up on my fantasy team. I dont expect this every night obviously. However if he does half this, it's better than my current rotation.

He's 3-8 with a 4.69 ERA, and that's AFTER his CG No-Hitter. It's always cool when a "journeyman" type pitcher comes from nowhere and tosses a gem - Len Barker's perfect game comes to mind (losing career record).

I still think one of the coolest sports trivia questions is: What (relatively recent) MLB player was on the winning side in three perfect games?

Good stuff. I'm in NYC this week and went to the Reds/Mets game last night. I think I can settle for Arroyo's complete game shutout!

Sanchez has decent stuff. He strikes out a lot of guys (about 1 an inning for his career, if not more). His problem is that he leaves it in the zone a lot and gives up runs... I think he's guilty of throwing too many strikes at times..

Also, the guy is 26 years old in his 4th season in the majors. I wouldn't call him a journeyman, but I can agree with the sentiment that it's fun to see an unlikely guy throw a no hitter...

Seeing it this morning, I thought it was high, not outside - it looked like it caught the plate.

It looked like it went more around the plate rather than over it, but I don't have a problem with calling a pitcher's strike in that situation. The ultimate pitcher's strike was the final full count pitch in Don Larson's World Series perfect game. It was much closer to shoulder high than it was letter high.

I am on vacation in northern california and we decided to go to the game last night. The no hitter was incredible. Definitely the most intense baseball game I have ever been to.

I agree with you, it was an 8-0 game, and Sanchez had been hitting his spots all night. The pitcher is going to get the call on anything close, and the hitter should know that.
