Welcome to another weekly edition of On That Note. OTN is a music discussion forum hosted by myself, @cyclones500 and @MeanDean.

This week with college graduations already done and high school ones to come in following weeks that is this week's topic. We are looking for songs that could fit as graduation songs.

ISU has Flowrestling's #6 ranked recruiting class

A nice class for the Cyclones. I do feel that Anderson is a little bit boom or bust, but excited to see him at the next level.

Some non-traditional powers with good classes in here as well. Fresno State #8 and Northern Colorado #10.

UNI had the #19 class and Iowa's was honorable mention

Fighting Burrito in Ames Closing

Saw this on their Facebook page this morning: https://www.facebook.com/FightingBurrito/

Sad day for me and many of my college buddies. I spent way too many drunken nights there after bar close chowing down on a burrito, quesadilla or the occasional monster sized rice krispie treat. Was a staple on Welch during my ISU days, will be interesting to see what that location becomes. It's prime real estate in Campus Town.

2019 tailgate tour

Today was Audubon, council Bluffs
14th Sioux city, Okoboji
15th Ft Dodge, Clear Lake
20th Knoxville, Bettendorf
21st Dubuque, Cedar Rapids
22nd Marshalltown, Waterloo

Did anyone get to go today? Looks like Audubon had a good turn out.

If you haven't had the chance to attend they are a lot of fun and a good chance to meet the coach of your choice. They all give a little stump speech and you get a chance to win door prizes or buy ISU swag. These events are really family friendly.

Tailgate Tour: Dresser talks CRTC house

Hello pals,

Sorry I have been MIA. I got to tag along to the tailgate tour today and got this little nugget for you guys. Time with Dresser wasn't long but we're scheduling some time to meet up longer. I'll also probably be in Knoxville to get more stuff.

Also, just wanted to share that I am not going anywhere so expect my content to pick back up!

Javan Johnson signs; press release

AMES, Iowa –Iowa State has signed Troy University transfer Javan Johnson (JAY-ven Johnson), head coach Steve Prohm announced today. Johnson, a 6-7 forward, will sit out the 2019-20 season per NCAA transfer rules and have two seasons of eligibility remaining after redshirting.

Johnson made 42 starts in his 63 appearances for the Trojans, including starting all 30 games last season as a sophomore. The Decatur, Alabama native was third on the team averaging 10.4 points while also pulling down 4.2 rebounds per game. Johnson connected on a team-high 53 three-pointers at a 35.3 percent clip last season. He shot 43.8 percent behind the arc as a freshman, making 87 three-pointers over the course of his two seasons with the Trojans.

“Adding a player like Javan is really exciting for our program,” Prohm said. “He brings great length and has the versatility to score at all three levels on the court. Javan has a tremendous upside as a player and I am really looking forward to seeing the strides he can make in his development.”

Johnson scored in double figures 14 times last season, tallying a career-best 20 points three different times.

Also a capable defender, Johnson finished his sophomore campaign with 22 blocks and 15 steals.
