So, for the past 2 seasons this guy has dome prediction videos for all power 5 schools.
His YouTube channel has just over 2000 subscribers.
How is getting access to these stadiums do make these videos? I would get it if this guy was a more prevalent youtuber, but it seems like the ramblings of some random dude that has a decent understanding of the game.
One of the groomsman in my wedding party is a big scotch drinker. I'd like to get him a good bottle of scotch as his gift. However, I don't know much about scotch and was looking for some recommendations. Any assistance would be appreciated! Thanks.
He played in the Cap City and was shown in a few Practice Vids but lately has not been seen in any Vids or anything like that. Is he for some reason gone?
I think we might be looking at the Best Picture winner come January. Only thing holding it back is that it's a Netflix movie not a big studio movie. Not sure if the industry will award a non studio movie best pic of the year just yet.
With the upcoming legalization of sports wagering in Iowa, does anybody have any recommendations on handicappers? There are a ton of them out there, some with pretty good records for past picks. Any thoughts?
I need a new home printer. We won't be using it a ton but my wife is a teacher and she will often need to make 30 or so copies of worksheets. I'd also like to purchase a model that doesn't require crazy expensive ink cartridges. Any recommendations?
Drove by the practice facility on South Dakota this morning at 7:45. There was a fire truck, ambulance and two police cars in the lot. Any idea what was going on? Thanks.
The DFW Cyclones are planning an "Austin-style" tailgate event prior to the Baylor game. We are offering a full array of options for this game as we expect this to be the largest Cyclone event in Texas this season. Based on the attendance of 400+ Cyclones from the 2017 tailgate in Waco we are planning on bigger things this time around. We will offer tailgate and game ticket-only packages as well as tickets-plus-tailgate.
The DFW Cyclones are partnering with the Texas Firewalkers BBQ Team to provide entry into our All-You-Can-Eat BBQ including soda and adult beverages. Presale price for this event is $25. Price will rise to $30 prior to the event.
You don't need to bring a grill or a cooler or go shopping for food and parking is included (parking is first come/first serve until our 5+ acre space is filled). We can handle the whole day for you.
You can learn more about the Firewalkers by visiting their website - www.texasfirewalkers.org - and please take time to view the video where they were featured on Mike Rowe's Facebook Video series "Returning the Favor". They have a great story to tell.
Hey fellow smoker I need some advice . Making my first attempt at homemade bacon and ran unto a schedule issue. I put the belly in brine last Sunday afternoon. Was originally going to let set a week, Dry for a day to get a pellicle. and then smoke it.
We ended up having to travel out of state this weekend so my options are.
1.Smoke it Friday after being in brine for 4 days with little time to dry or form pellicle.
2. Leave it in brine for 8 days, then dry and smoke.
3. Leave it in brine for 5 days. Let dry (unattended) for 2.5 days and then smoke.
I think I have plenty of curing salt in the brine so I'm not terribly worried about it going bad in any case. Just curious if there are known pros and cons th any of the 3 options.
Scott Dochterman from the Athletic has an article online today stating that "It’s frustrating for Iowa fans to watch their rivals compete against powerhouse Power-5 opponents while the Hawkeyes’ only major-conference foe every year is Iowa State."
Being that we are almost there and I can barely contain myself, if we do live up to expectations how crazy will the Jack be? Even in bad years that place is insane. Got my tickets to the OSU game. Ready to lose my voice!
This week we're going in a more traditional and/or random direction.
This idea occurred to me on July 4th. I was in a public place and at the event there was a lot of music variety. Among the songs that I heard that day was Sweet Home Alabama. And as we all know it opens with the guitar lick then one of the band members says, prior to the start of actual singing, "Turn It Up."
Which got me thinking... Hmmm, what OTHER songs begin with spoken words before the actual singing?
I initially couldn't think of too many, but presented the idea to 500 and Rulzzz and they both like it so we bounced it around a while and came up with a couple dozen or so eventually. We also discussed the parameters/rules.
Track has to be a song. Not a spoken word recording like Americans by Gordon Sinclair or We Love You Call Collect by Art Linkletter.
The spoken part has to be before the first singing, but not necessarily before the first instruments/music.
Count-ins DO NOT COUNT, so no I Saw Her Standing There or Taxman.
Live versions with spoken intros by band members or by Masters of Ceremony (MC) are also to be excluded.
So here are my first 5 to kick it off:

My last one, technically, doesn't meet the rules we set, but it was the first one I thought of after hearing the Lynyrd Skynyrd song. I believe the girls are singing the opening two words in this one but I've always just been so amused by this. I just try to imagine the recording session. "Okay girls this song is called, Love Child. First before the song really starts we'll have Mary and Cindy sing "Tenement Slum." Yeah, that's right, just once at the beginning."
Just graduated from ISU and moved down to West Des Moines for my job. Was wondering if anybody knew of any church leagues/pick up basketball leagues around the area that would be open to a "newbie" playing once a week or so. Thanks to anybody that has some insight!
Side Note: I'd like to think I don't suck at basketball, I did win a C-League intramural basketball championship last year lol
