projector/media room setup??

good day:

i am inquiring into peeps with a projector setup.

i have a basement area that i am finishing and am leaning towards going with a projector instead of two 50" tvs.

i watch sports but not two at the same time.

its in the basement and light (impacting screen) will not be an issue.

projector: im thinking about:

BenQ MH535FHD

sound: i know that i will need a sound system, not an issue (prob go with 7.1).

screen: should i get an actually screen or paint on screen/flat screen.

what else should i be looking at?

On That Note - If You Want Me, Just Whistle

Hey all,

Welcome to another weekly edition of On That Note. We take turns doing the heavy lifting every week; and to mix a couple metaphors - this week I'm in the barrel. The other guys who host are @cyclones500 and @CycloneRulzzz.

Last week we did the drum thing - find the post here:

https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/on-that-note-bang-on-the-drum.249568/

This week I've dreamt up another off the wall idea. Songs that contain whistling. Like the previous episode I hosted about talking at the beginning of songs, I initially thought this was too limiting. But again my buddies on the team came through with multiple multiple examples, so I/we've decided to go for it.

Of course there are two prime examples that I will NOT post that are whistled tunes basically from beginning to end. One is the theme song from a 1960's sitcom who's title is The Fishing Hole. The other is from an Oscar Best Picture winner about a group of British POW/Soldiers forced to build a bridge for the Japanese in WWII. I'll let you folks glom onto those puppies.

The title for this week's OTN is pulled from the movie To Have and To Have Not (Lauren Bacall quote) “If you want me, just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow."

Scheduling Control

I was wondering if ISU has some ability to control it's scheduling in terms of bye weeks. I only ask because I think it stinks that we have a bye week after only one game. I also remember there only being 1 bye a year, and now there are 2. I like the conference bye, but I hate the bye being after the first game. If I were a player, I would really like to get back on the field ASAP to correct mistakes.

Hosting an exchange student

Have any of you ever done this? We weren't planning on hosting a student but the opportunity fell into our lap and now we are approved. A student had come into the country for orientation and her original host family backed out the day before she was supposed to move in. We've been working over the past week to submit paperwork, interview, etc. and now she's moving in on Thursday. We have a daughter and our daughter and the exchange student are the same age/grade and will attend the same school. We're all incredibly excited for this opportunity.

For anyone that has done this before, offer up any guidance that you might have. I'm open to tips/tricks/hacks/things to avoid. We are certainly aware of the obvious things so looking for the nuances that might make this experience even better.

Now I need to find some ISU gear for her to wear...

Just curious what others are thinking. I like Kene, as I feel like he was really never completely recovered last year.

Either Croney or Nwangwu would likely be the odds on favorites to receive the first handoff from Brock Purdy against the Panthers. Croney enters his final season in Ames after compiling 56 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries last season while Nwangwu, who is widely regarded as the fastest player in the program, added 157 yards on 39 carries of his own in his first year back since missing the full 2017 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon following his true freshman season.

This is what concerns about Sheldon.
