CharlesSchwab Brokerage Eliminating Commissions

Whoa; you're gonna need that $0 Commissions after you see how the stock (SCHW) is tanking,

"....Starting on October 7, Schwab, which holds about $3.72 trillion in client assets, will be slashing its trading commission cost for U.S. stocks and ETFs from the previous $4.95 to zero. Trading options will continue to cost 65 cents per contract.The firm’s chief financial officer estimates the commissions fed about $90 million to $100 million in quarterly revenue, about 3% to 4% of total net revenue."

Underground Dog Fence?

Got a new pup (7 months) and am thinking hard about getting some kind of dog fence to keep him in the yard. Wondering if anyone out there has used any of the local companies (Dog Guard/Invisible Fence) or put a system in themselves? Pro's/Con's?

Also, has anyone used the wifi systems and have you had any luck with them?

Posts of the Month: September 2019

Roundup of some notable quips and comments, September 2019. I missed some large chunks of CF time throughout the month, so this one’s even more thin than usual. Anything major you’ve seen that isn’t included, add if you wish.

Some entries are edited for clarity or brevity.

From “College GameDay” thread
@Messi: Guy with a megaphone and signs about religion ranted for hours before kickoff … Pretty annoying, since this is right by our tailgate.
@Cyched: I laughed when I heard him say the end is near. By the 4th quarter, I was thinking he was on to something...

From “Who Will Be the Guest Picker?”
@AuH2O: There are four facts about Tom Arnold in this thread. The least negative one is, he’s a coke addict.

@180class: Who the f*** is Post Malone?
@dcyme1183: I think it's how they referred to “Cheers” after Sam sold the bar to go sailing.

From “Based on CF Posts, ULM attendance predictions”

@dosry5: My son and I’ll be there. We’ll be the ones in the Iowa State hats.

@throwittoblythe: These folks will yell "Put in TIller!" and "Come on Rhodes!"
@cyclonespiker33: They’re going to spell Rhoads’ name wrong while yelling? Impressive.
@throwittoblythe: Yes. They are THAT stupid.

@cmjh10: 8675309

From “Willie Harvey signed by Browns”
@JM4CY: Willie Willie Willie won’t.... go home.
@Acylum: Cuz you can't push Willie 'round. (Seriously, you can't.)

From “College Football Survivor Week 4”
@ImJustKCClone: I'm more than a little annoyed with the Cavalier attitude being shown by Virginia right now...

From “Brock Purdy Breaks School Record…”
“Brock Purdy is the 1st player in Big 12 history with 400 Pass YDS, 3 Pass TD and 3 Rush TD in the same game.”
@cycloneeric: Is that good?

@spitfyr36: Ohio State kid scored 6 tds in one quarter. Purdy needs to step his game up.
@demoncore1031: Ohio State can lick my vag.

From “Friday OT: A Real Slap In The Face
@Angie: WhenI was flipping through channels, I was shocked when a new episode of "Big Brother" came up. I didn't know that show was still going. Is there anything like that where you had no idea it was still a thing? Like, "Oh, they still make Corn Pops?! I'll be damned!" types of moments.
@LindenCy: It's sad “Big Brother” is still going. However, now I want some Corn Pops.

From “This Kid is a Sophomore?”
@CYCLNST8: Purdy 3:16 says, “I just pump-faked your ass!”

@Peter: I wonder if most punters are atheists.

California legalizes college athlete endorsements

https://www.koin.com/sports/california-to-let-college-athletes-make-money-defying-ncaa/

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Defying the NCAA, California’s governor signed a first-in-the-nation law Monday that will let college athletes hire agents and make money from endorsements — a move that could upend amateur sports in the U.S. and trigger a legal challenge.

Under the law, which takes effect in 2023, students at public and private universities in the state will be allowed to sign deals with sneaker companies, soft drink makers or other advertisers and profit from their names and likenesses, just like the pros.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom and others cast the law as an attempt to bring more fairness to big-money college sports and let athletes share in the wealth they create for their schools.
