With our last scheduled football match up against the Longhorns approaching, I was chatting with a non-ISU friend about why XII and ISU folks dislike Texas so much. They asked, “well, what’ve they specifically done to make you hate them?”

A few things off top of my head:
- Backroom scheming to leave the XII
- Complaining about Horns Down & the conference making it a penalty
- numerous questionable officiating calls, namely Jeremiah George’s forward progress strip return

What else? Can be anything ISU or XII related

I am visiting my non drinking parents near grinnell. I have a week to kill. What is something fun/interesting I can do while on my visit? I am attending the ISU/TEXAS game then staying a week.

They average 5.9 penalties per game. Do we see more or less than 5.5 penalties out of TX? Because nothing is fair when it comes to TX, I'm curious what others think.

Thanks for sticking with it after 4-8 last year, the 1-2 non-conference start this year and the loss of starters due to the gambling fiasco. Going 5-2 in the conference and being in this position with 2 games left is due to your leadership and hard work these past several years. After the Ohio game, this program could have gone the wrong direction but you stuck with it and here you are. Who knows what the next two weeks have in store but your last two games will be played in sold out stadiums in relevant games and you and we fans have been rewarded. You deserve a thank-you and respect for your dedication to ISU football.

By my count, there are 13 seniors on the roster, 11 who signed as HS incoming. 3 defense starters and 2 offense starters. This is a small group who have stuck it out. The foundation has been set and with numerous returning starters, the future looks bright. And don't forget, this group forced this young team to earn their way as starters on the practice field.

You have beaten UT and K State in your careers and you can do it again. Go Cyclones!
