Things going well with the family. We are all sitting eating popcorn for supper(tradition since I was knee high to a grasshopper) and watching disney channel until the girls go to bed. After figuring out what your avatar was, I had to watch the 3 Lord of the Ring movies so I could figure out who Balrog was. How did you decide to use that for your avatar? Keep your head up and hopefully the shoulder heals quickly. Like I told you, it will work out one way or the other so stay positive there brother!!
Thanks 91, you are the best. Work has me bummed a bit. Threw the shoulder out at work and what with the slow-down in the economy, I am concerned about my deemed usefulness to the company right now. We have already had a couple of layoffs, and I sure don't want to be the next. I looked forward to NLI day that now that it is over, I don't know what to do with myself on the board. I think that Herman is going to be a dynamic change to the offensive mindset of this team. There will be a lot of excitement and attention shown to the Cyclones this fall in my humble opinion. Herman has had the biggest influx of talent and speed that he has ever had. I hope he feels like a kid in a candy store!
How is the family? I think of them often.
How goes the battle Balrog? Hadn't heard much from you lately so thought I would send you a message making sure all is well.
Thanks for the welcome. I have been following the site since July 2008. Just trying to get a feel for the culture of CF. Some very funny stuff on here (as well as some things that make me shake my head). I've certainly found some of my favorite posters, CycloneErik and yourself among them, mostly for your voices of reason and serenity. Thanks for the note. I look forward to more.
I had him for that course and another I really cannot recall what the title was....but he was a trip. I started off fearing him a bit in the beginning..but he really grew on me and I began to enjoy his strange sense of humor. I see you live in Johnston as well! Awesome.
I had Kottman for "America and the Cold War since 1950" in 1994. One day I arrived early for class and he set me up. He said when he started class, he wanted me to ask him the question "If you had been drafted during Vietnam, would you have gone?" I told his it sounded like a set-up, but he assured me it wasn't. Anyway, at the beginning of class he asked if there were any questions. I raised my hand and asked, "If you were drafted during Vietnam, would you have gone?" He quickly replied sternly, "Edmondson, that's a stupid question! Are there any other questions?" I appreciate a good joke. God, I loved that man.
Thanks for the rep. I love sparring to music from the Phantom. Why not introduce a team to it? ;)
Thanks a bunch for doing that. We had a great time last year and we don't want to miss it!
im a forte fan, but im also a terribly poor college kid, and it does not sound like something i would be able to afford.
Thanks for the complement. I don't post alot because I don't think I offer alot to this audience. They are just my private thoughts expresses in words, but thanks for saying so to me.
All McGuire told me was that information would be out soon, and the date, so nothing more than that at this point, but if I get something in the mail soon, I'll post it.
Even harder is being away. I live in KC which isnt that far but raising two athletic sons it wasnt in the cards to go to any games. Now that one is out of college and the other is almost done I am going to try and see some live action. Just have to convince the wife it is a good idea.
Exactly. A good # of these folks only show up when we lose. They don't show up when we win.

My favorites are the ones who admit that they don't watch the games.

I'm right there with you. It's not like I buy season tickets hoping to lose. I want to win. But things have to develop for that to happen, and that stuff takes some time.
