Cocky Hawk fans

I know every fan base has a-holes, but seems Iowa has more of them. Last night while leaving the stadium, had a teenage or early 20 something in a group of Hawk fans hold up his hand and say, “High five, in a row!!” Showed him my middle finger.

And of course this morning at Hy-Vee the Hawk jerseys and t-shirts were out in full force. Lots of condescending smirks too.

Damn I hate the Iowa game. Every year. Wouldn’t bother me to play someone else. A guaranteed win. Rant over. And $#@% the Hawks. Hope they lose every game.

NFL: ***Official Week Three Thread***

Titans @ Jacksonville tonight for their annual Thursday night classic. Maybe Jalen Ramsey's last game as a Jaguar if he plays at all. Seems like the smart thing to do if they're exploring trade options would be to sit him and avoid the injury risk.

Games I'm looking forward to:

BAL @ KC - Potential playoff game preview?
LA Rams @ CLE - Good measuring stick game for the Browns. Are they for real or not?

That's about it. Pretty lackluster slate of games. Saints @ Seahawks looked better before Brees got hurt.

More Troubling Tweets Surface at DM Register

I was alerted to some disturbing tweets allegedly from the DM Register's own Randy Peterson when he was 16:

"Boy, that Mamie Eisenhower is a handsome woman..."

"I'd like to share a cherry coke with Ingrid Bergman - one straw only, please"

"I was just ready to sit down to watch the new episode of Leave it to Beaver when mom said II had to mow the lawn - that dame has the worst timing."

Mr. Peterson has not responded to calls for comment at the time of this posting.

This kid is a sophomore?

“With all the success I’ve experienced, especially in a college town where football hasn’t been successful in the past, everyone glorifies what I do on the field. I’m challenged to stay humble. When others start hyping me up, I am tempted to think I’m greater than I really am. I need to remember that, just as Christ was, I’m here on earth to serve others, not myself,” Purdy said.

Do not drink list

With the merger a while back between AB InBev and SAB Miller it get's tricky to decipher what beers we should or should not boycott at this point.

I enjoy my High Life but it's hard to tell if they are part of AB InBev/SAB Miller or Molsons/Coors. I believe it's Molsons/Coors. I push we make that the official beer of ISU.

Game Sync

I’ve seen people here mention that they wish they could sync the TV and radio broadcasts. Well, the last couple of games I’ve heard John and Eric doing commercial blurbs for Learfield’s syncmygame.com. No idea if that’s helpful to all of you, but thought I’d pass it along.

Hope this hasn’t been posted before.
