NFL: Twas the Night Before the Superbowl

I wrote this and read it to my 4 1/2 year old and newborn tonight as their bedtime story.

'Twas The Night Before The Superbowl

'Twas the night before The Superbowl and all through the Kingdom
The Chiefs fans were stirring, wondering what tomorrow would bring them.
The jerseys were hung in the lockers with care
In the hopes that the Lombardi trophy soon would be theirs

The team was nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of touchdowns danced in their heads.
Mom in her jersey and I in my cap
and Andy Reid was probably eating 3 cheeseburgers as a snack

When down in Arizona there arose such a clatter
I turned on the TV to see what was the matter
The season had flown by like a flash
much like the speed of Mecole Hardman running the 40 yard dash

The stage was set all bright and a glow
It’s the Chiefs and Patrick in their 3rd Superbowl.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a giant team bus and eight players dressed in Chiefs Gear
With a little old driver with a mustache so thick.
Well I knew it was coach Reid cuz he was shaped like a brick.

Let’s take down the Eagles, coach Reid did exclaim
And he whistled and he shouted and he called them by name
"On Patrick, on Travis, on Pacheco and Butker
On Jones, on Clark, on Dunlap and JuJu smith- Schuster!

From the top of the AFC, to on top of them all
Now, Run the ball, Pass the ball, Score the ball all!"
As quickly as Eagles fan yell “Fly Eagles Fly”
The Chiefs knew they had to stop them, was Chris Jones the guy?
So down to Arizona the whole team and fans flew
with a bag full of tricks, that Eric and Andy all knew.
They used these tricks to beat teams all year
The Jags and the Bengals in times most recently near

People doubted the Chiefs in the Superbowl, not knowing if they could.
Especially Bills Fans who say “Josh Allens so good”
The Cincinnati Mayor filled his mouth with his foot
Kelce Called him a Jabroni as they gave the Bengals the boot

The Chiefs took it to the Bengals with the run and the pass
Remember its Mahomes house, Burrowhead my ass!

Gracie Hunts eyes, how they twinkle, her dimples, how merry
Her Swimsuits she wears like roses, her booty shaped like a cherry
Britney Mahomes is annoying and will probably wear a bow
Jackson Mahomes is equally annoying, leave him home in the snow

Remember the cigarette Len Dawson held loose in his teeth
And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath
He did that when he won Superbowl 4
Lets get this for him and the others who passed before

Tomorrows the day that we all had to wait
The players need to be fired up right out of the gate
be aggressive and physical but play with your head
because giving up too many penalties is something to dread

After last season Coach Reid went to work.
Revamping the offensive and defensive weapons was a perk
It always helps to have big Chris Jones at the nose
Sacking the quarterbacks and striking a pose

The offensive line has the big job to protect
The quarterback Mahomes, we gotta keep him erect.
The Chiefs defense will have to come at Hurts like a missile
And play a good game until the final whistle.
We made it to the game, Kelce exclaimed, so lets not be Tardy
And remember everyone
You gotta fight for your right to Lombardi.

Looking Ahead to the UNI Dual

This is going to be a tough dual. Schwab has done a hell of a job in Cedar Falls and they are wrestling extremely well this year.

125- Hoping we see Perryman or Cabanban vs Golhoffer. This is a must win for the clones to win the dual in my opinion. Cabanban beat Golhoffer 2-1 earlier this year at the Daktronics invitational.

133- Redding/Ramazan vs #11 Biscoglia. Ramazan has struggled with Biscoglia in the past (0-2) and Redding is 1-0 vs Biscoglia. I am guessing we see Redding again and hopefully it is a good week of weight management. If not, Biscoglia will win this match.

141- Swiderski vs #10 Happel. Happel got beat by Schwartz and Young the same weekend that Swiderski did. This is a winnable match for Casey, we just need to see the Casey from the last minute of the Matthews match to show up for 7 minutes. This will be a big match to get Casey back on track for Big 12s.

149- Paniro vs #14 Realbuto. Paniro should win this match, but Realbuto is tough. I am expecting Paniro to win a 5-3 or 6-5 type match. If he is able to win by 4+ points and win comfortably, that will be a very good showing.

157- Kraisser vs #20 Holschlag. UNI is favored here, and I think Holschlag ends up beating Kraisser. However, Kraisser has been wrestling better as of late and is starting to get to the legs on shots instead of going upper body. A win here will go a long way towards earning an allocation at 157 for the Big 12s, and building an At-Large resume if he falls short of an allocation spot in Tulsa.

165- Carr vs #13 Yant. A bonus would go a long way for the team here, but Yant is tough to score on. I expect him to try and slow things down the way everyone does against David. David has been wrestling really well lately, but I see this being an 8-2 or 7-3 type match.

174- Broderson vs #24 Runyon. Broderson has not been wrestling well of late and Runyon is 1-0 against Julien all time. We will be underdogs here. If Julien can stay solid and leg attack instead of going upper body, we have a chance.

184- Coleman vs #2 Keckeisen. Parker is 2-0 all time vs Marcus and is a beast. Marcus will be the underdog here, but I think it will be close. A win shows that Marcus has taken another step up and is truly a contender to be wrestling Saturday Night at NCAAs.

197- Bastida vs Glasser or Voelker. Absolutely need bonus here, and Yonger should pick Glasser apart. Should at least be a major, but hoping for a tech. It wouldn't shock me if Doug sent out Voelker at 197 either, but I still think Yonger majors Wyatt

Hwt- Schyler vs #15 Gordon. Gordon has impressed this year, but I am not betting against Sammy right now. It will probably be a close match, but I expect Sam to win it.

Overall, we are favored at 149, 165, 197, and hwt. UNI is favored at 133, 141, 157, 174, 184. 125 is a true tossup in my opinion. We need to steal one of 133, 141, or 157 to win the dual. Being that it is in Cedar Falls, that will be a tall task. However, I have Iowa State winning the dual 16-15 with Perryman getting a W at 125 (no inside information, just guessing we might see him), Yonger getting a major at 197 and Sammy cleaning it up at Hwt to win the dual for a 2nd year in a row.

Post-Dual Write Up and Video

Hey guys -

Here is what I wrote after the dual. Most importantly find video from post-dual at the bottom.

I recorded Schwab as well since I thought you die-hards might enjoy that!

Where does the Iowa State basketball team stay in KC

Hi Everyone,

I am working on booking my trip to KC for the basketball tourney and was curious what hotel the basketball team stays in. Last year I stayed at the Crown Plaza where the texa$ and West Virginia teams were staying there and all things being equal it would be more of a thrill seeing Iowa State coming and going to the games than hearing the eyes of texa$ being played in the lobby. Thanks!

Handicap Season Tickets - Football

Last year we had season tickets with another couple. One member of our party is severely handicapped but found a way to wait for golf carts to get to our section and get assistance to get to our seats. It was rough to get to the seats.

A couple questions:

How do the ADA seats work? If, for example, you could get tickets in section 12 with your regular allotment, do you buy seats somewhere in section 12 and then they put you in the ADA section near section 12 once you call the ticket office OR are the ADA tickets treated separately and you bid for them when you turn comes up? (Our section does have ADA seating at the top so in theory would we renew our tickets and hope they can fit us above our section, or do I start from scratch?)

Is there a limit to how many people can sit with the ADA needy individual? Only one of our four is handicapped, but whether sitting next to spouses or friends, some of the fun of the game is sitting together. We would be okay with the HC person+1, the HC person alone would not be cool.

Flo log in for Ben?

Hey crew - just wanted to see if anyone wasn’t using their Flo log in by chance and if Ben could use it tonight to watch!! CW is using your ours to watch and if we can use another one that would be super helpful!! I know someone came in clutch last season so wanted to see if anyone was feeling generous
