Morbid post alert (apologies)

Had a strange late afternoon. We found our neighbor dead in her backyard across our alley. It was so...strange. I haven't ever seen a dead body in the real/ongoing world. Hospitals and stuff yes. But life going on around, cars driving by and people walking dogs. It was just...so sad and surreal. It's also nearly 100 degrees and she was definitely in the sun all day from the looks of things. She had the garden hose in her hand and the backdoor was ajar and tv was on. Likely she just went out back to water plants/flowers in this drought and either had a heat stroke or heart attack on the spot. Have you ever found a person deceased before?

Friday OT #2 - “That Isn’t a Thing”

I was chatting with a friend who has both MS and ADHD, which has to be a hard combination when her brain wants to go-go-go, but her body can’t.

She was telling me how people have told her many times that ADHD isn’t real. Having several very close family members who have it, I can say for certain that it is - but people have opinions.

I know there are other things in this world where we know it is real, but other people doubt us. Could be medical, could be that we remember a situation vividly that others say wasn’t real. Maybe we had a crop circle in our field at one point.

This question is hard to formulate well - but what are your stories of doubters and naysayers around things you have seen or experienced?

Above Ground Pools

I have young kids and am looking at getting one. I’ve never had one or installed one but I’m moderately handy and am willing to tackle it. I wouldn’t get one but with everything going on I doubt pools will be open this summer (that’s a separate debate of course).

Any advice would be appreciated. Looking for more installation advice but what kind of pool would be awesome too. I’m not looking to spend a ton of dough on one, that’s for sure. I’m guessing others might be in the same boat which is reason for starting this thread.

NBA: Important NBA trade for Monte's future

I wanted to make a separate thread for those that don't go into the NBA thread.
With the Wizards acquiring Jones, I would still anticipate them to cut Chris Paul. If that happens Monte will get minutes. If the Wizards keep them both I don't think Monte will get many minutes.
Also, Boston got a lot for Smart. Who know WTF the Wizards are doing.

Cyclone Sundays/Cap City League

The Cap City League tips off Sunday. No ISU guys playing this year but we have partnered with Brent Blum and the We Will Collective to have multiple players come every week for "Cyclone Sundays".

This is a chance for Cyclone fans to meet the returning and incoming players, get autographs and pictures, and show the guys the level of support they will receive during the season. We might even test their skills in a 3 point contest or a game of knock out with the kids in attendance.

Sunday June 25 features: Tamin Lipsey, Big Rob Energy (aka Big Bob) and freshmen Kayden Fish and Jelani Hamilton.

Bonus: stay and watch some very competitive games featuring talented small college, JUCO, high school and unsigned players from across Central Iowa.

As always, attendance is free.

New Mortgage Question

In the process of building a new home and securing a new mortgage.

Anybody else who is refinancing or applying for a new mortgage getting hit with a question about ability to work remotely or at home.

Your employer needs to confirm you are allowed to maintain employment even if you cannot go to an office.

Doubt if that questions was out there 6 months ago.

Villains of the 80s artwork

Saw this on Facebook and thought it was fun. While I can't necessarily name a lot of them, I know what movie almost all of them are from. There is one I don't know and one I'm not sure about. Have no clue who the guy in the white suit with the long fingers is in the top center, and I'm guessing the guy with the putter is Judge Smails, but if it is its not the best likeness. Which one can you not place? Any villains you think are missing that should have made it?

NCAA Finances

Interesting story from USA Today. With all the realignment news going on... to me it's interesting that Kansas and Iowa State will have the largest AD budgets in the Big12 after Texas and Oklahoma leave.
