Any Clone fans out there who have been thinking about getting an RV and entering the elite tailgating world? My father-in-law is selling his after many years on the road. It's an older model so the price point is very low compared to newer RVs and he's a retired John Deere mechanical engineer who meticulously maintained this unit. He's a MacGyver-type. The ad below is for $60K but that includes a tricked out trailer. He will sell the RV and trailer separately, I believe book value is $48K for the RV and $12K for the trailer from the ratings outfits. DM me if you or anyone you know is interested.
While researching the history of Iowa State baseball, I have come across a patch that was worn on the left sleeve of the baseball uniforms from 1957-1969. The patch is an angled profile image of Cy that does not show up in any university-owned mark listings that I can find.
I believe this patch to be of the logo that used to reside in a Big 8 mural in the Trophy Tavern in the Memorial Union. I’ve included images of all of these instances and a zoomed in picture of the Cy logo in the MU.
I am looking for a cleaner image of this version of Cy, either on a baseball uniform or just the logo itself. Are there any clearer versions out there?
Carey Price of the the Montreal Canadiens was sent up to announce their 1st round draft pick tonight, he gave the kids first name and then paused for a really long time, he forgot the kids last name, someone from the Montreal front office had to slide over and give his last name. Awkward and funny at the same time. I'm sure it will be all over the internet soon.
Despite only appearing in nine games, and a total of 15 game minutes, Aaron Agnew drew his way into the hearts of Cyclone fans during the 2004-2005 season.
Air Force is doing refueling over midwest to commemorate 100th anniversary of first inflight refueling. Saw this pic of Iowa Air Guard doing it over Jack Trice.
On the ESPN 30 for 30 "American Gladiators," they try to get into the facility in Erie, PA. A mysterious guy named Dan Carr was involved in its beginning. They ask a guy if he has heard of Carr and he says yes, "Isn't he a wrestler in the Carr family of wrestlers?" The show just leaves it as a mistake . . . but might he have been thinking about Nate Carr?
Bracket released this morning. Iowa probably got fortunate that the 1 seed in their Region is Indiana State however they do have to play North Carolina in their 1st game.
Currently scheduled to commit on Wednesday. High school teammate of ‘23 signee Ta’Shawn James, we were in on him early—before OU and OSU jumped in. Notre Dame just offered.
Easily the running back the staff is focused in on in this class, kid is a total beast. Think of the kind of big, speedy running backs the Steelers have trotted onto the field over the years. Rating is bound to blow up over the next six months.
Everyone seems to be projecting him to OU, but the Sooners are all over a bunch of running backs.
Also has run track. Ran a 24.98 200 as a sophomore in Spring 2022. ----- 2022: Finished junior season with 2,594 yards and 39 TDs on 9.4 yards per carry....
I am doing some decorating with random ISU photos and can't for the life of me find that screen shot where someone put F**K CHIZIK in the snow after he left.
Does anyone happen to have it? If you would KINDLY send it to me, there are free beers for you in the RV village this year.
Deadline to order thru ISU is tomorrow for season ticket holders, get those requests in and don't chance the secondary market! We did that for TTU two years ago and got stuck in a corner (same side, other end from where the students got relocated to...) Drunks trying to pick fights w/ me all game, and my kids were sitting right next to me. Won't be going back to Lubbock anytime soon, and my wife's masters is from there.
For 2023, we're going to BYU and UC. New opponents in conference, gotta get those stadiums visited quick! I still need to get to Waco, Ft. Worth, and Morgantown to complete the quest to go to all B12 stadiums. We did get OU and TX the last couple years, and of old B12 we went to kNU a few times.
I searched to see if this was shared but I didn't see it searching for NIL signing or Snoop. Just the beginning...Snoop retirement plan
"A 9-year-old from Snoop Dogg’s Youth Football League has landed a six-figure name, image and likeness (NIL) deal with a sports agency, becoming the first person from the youth league to do so at such a young age."
Didn't know what forum to choose either, but assuming since it's a paid athlete, this is a pro sports topic right?
Chris Williams is joined by Pac-12 and Arizona insider Jason Scheer for a podcast about the future of conference realignment. What’s next for the Pac-12 and its media rights deal? When is all of this drama going to come to an end? The guys debate the hot topic today on the Cyclone Fanatic...
We are looking into getting some wireless home security cameras for outside the house. I would love to go with a wired setup, but the layout/finishing of our house would make that more difficult and costly than I would probably like. I have the ability to get to an outlet with a couple of them for power, but another 2 would need to run on battery.
Arlo, Ring, and Blink seem to be the most common, with pricing following that same order. I like the idea of Blink not requiring a subscription and having the option of local storage, but if the cameras are crap that doesn't really do me any good. Right now I'm leaning towards the Ring Spotlight, assuming there will be a good sale on Prime Day in a couple weeks.
Curious what folks are using, and how you like them - ease of use, video quality in dark vs lighted areas, motion detection accuracy, etc?
Mini van's or any cars that drive side by side in the fast and slow lane and have no idea that they are causing people to want to smash into the back of them
People who don't let their sneeze go. I never understood why people hold a sneeze in when it feels so so good to just let it go.
We’ve got a loaded podcast for you in the dog days of summer. Williams & Blum discuss ESPN’s S&P predictions for the 2023 Big 12 football season. Blum makes an announcement about Iowa State’s NiL beer. Plus, we take a bunch of fan questions from Twitter and cover a lot of ground, all courtesy of […]
I've search my email and the forums, I've found nothing about parking selection for 2023. The invoice/receipt has a TBD on it. Isn't the lot selection usual in full swing by now? Or are we all patiently waiting on the completion of the paving work on the lots?
Another Tuesday Wednesday and time for another On That Note. Brought to you by your hosts, @cyclones500, @CycloneRulzzz and me.
This being June, the traditional month for weddings, I thought I'd do a topic on wedding rings. We have expanded it to include all jewelry. Also any songs with title or lyrics containing the words jewel or jewelry are allowed.
So things like ring, bracelet, necklace, locket, watch, pin, etc are acceptable.
Two clarifications:
1. Since we previously did rocks and gems as on OTN topic - the posts today cannot only mention a type of gem, it must mention an item of jewelry. So Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds doesn't count
2. Ring has to be specifically meaning the jewelry, not ring like the sound of a telephone/bell or ring like a boxing ring etc. So Ring of Fire doesn't count. Same with Watch. Only used as an item of jewelry - so All Along the Watchtower or Watching the Wheels do not qualify.
Last week's topic was: The Air That I Breathe. It can be found here:
Welcome to another edition of “On That Note,” CF’s weekly music series, co-hosted by @MeanDean, @cyclones500 and myself. This week we are looking for songs with breath, breathe or air in the title or lyrics. Other variations of word breathe and breath are also allowed. Last Week: Well Well Well
"She said no one else will do
Hold me, we're alone
But as she spoke her locket broke
And I guess I might have known
Inside was Fabian, Avalon, Ricky Nelson too
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Bobby Rydell and I know darn well
Presley's in there too" Login to view embedded media
As my Toyota exceeds 200k miles, I am thinking of trading her in for something else in the next few months. I am wanting a luxury vehicle and looking at something between 2009-2015 as it won't break the bank. I am thinking of getting either a Lexus, Acura, or Infiniit. I love the styles of German luxury vehicles, but everything I read about them is they are less reliable than their Japanese counterparts and much more expensive to repair. I want my cars to go over 200k without investing a lot in them.
TLDR, should I go with a Lexus, Acura, or Infiniti? Leaning Lexus at the moment, even though they're a little more pricey than the other two.
