Chronicles of Narnia Movie/TV Universe

https://screenrant.com/chronicles-narnia-netflix-movies-tv-shows/

Looks like Netflix has now acquired the movie/TV rights to the Chronicles of Narnia book series and plan to release a series of movies and books to cover the books. This is apparently the first time that any studio has owned the rights to all of the books, which is super huge and significant.

I'm a REALLY big Chronicles of Narnia fan and have been so since I was a little kid. I've read all the books multiple times and consider them up there with my all-time favorites. In fact, Chronicles of Narnia is right up there with the Lord of the Rings books for me. Therefore, I absolutely love this news as I truly believe this format is what has been needed all along to truly do these books justice. Sure, there were things to like about each one of the Disney and Fox films so far, while other things not so much, but regardless, both studios lacked doing the entire series justice due to the rights limitations. So, for Netflix, not only is this a super big IP they just bought, but it is also one of the few properties out there that truly does have some very good potential for an entire cinematic universe of many films and TV shows. I see this as Netflix's counter to Amazon's Lord of the Rings universe they plan on developing.

Property Access for Tree Removal

Our neighbor came over around 8 last night to inform us he was going to get his tree removed in the next 3-5 weeks. He proceeds to tell me that I need to move my car so they can get equipment into his backyard.

He comes back ten minutes later and tells me they will be there tomorrow morning at 8 am. My problem is they have an access gate on the north side of his house at least four foot wide. I have a new concrete driveway about a foot off the property line, a basketball hoop with a full sand base on my side two foot off the line, and his A/C unit. Only two feet of grass between.

Pretty sure his wife doesn’t want them using their north access due to a concrete patio in their backyard.

Do I have the right to deny them access? I am guessing they will want to use my driveway to move equipment into his back yard as to avoid going across his yard. If they would happen to break my concrete, Is the tree company responsible to repair or my neighbor?

I did tell my neighbor’s wife last month that if their dead tree fell on someone’s property that they would responsible for any damage. She kept telling me, “Nope! You are wrong!” I finally explained to her that if the tree was healthy and alive then you wouldn’t be responsible. She then changed her tune.

Team USA U19 Thread

Omaha started for team USA. But I do not think he has scored. Can't score when you don't touch the ball.

Team USA offense so far seems to be drive the ball to the hoop with no eal organized offense but it is working against Madagascar as they are up 29-19 at end of first quarter.

TJ would not be happy in that most of Madagascar's points have been on fast break baskets.

***USFL 2023***

Opening weekend -- two games today, two tomorrow.

Biggest change is that instead of all 8 teams playing in Birmingham, there are now 4 "home" sites with 2 teams each.
Detroit (Ford Field): Michigan, Philadelphia
Canton (HOF Stadium): New Jersey, Pittsburgh
Birmingham (Protective Stadium): Birmingham, New Orleans
Memphis (Liberty Bowl): Memphis, Houston

One USFL rule change regarding fumble situations, which has gotten a fair amount of discussion around here during CFB season:
"A ball fumbled forward from the field of play into the end zone and out of bounds will no longer be a touchback, but will be returned to the spot of the fumble with the fumbling team retaining possession."

Former Cyclones currently on USFL rosters, per each team's website:
Marcel Spears (Houston)
E.J. Bibbs (New Orleans)
Greg Eisworth (New Orleans)

Wealth Shift

Interesting article concerning the shift of wealth in this county to the Southeast. As someone who has lived in the Northeast, I can't blame companies/individuals leaving for better weather and cheaper COL.

RECRUITING: Iowa State earns a big commitment from twin offensive linemen

This is what I would call the quintessential Ryan Clanton recruits - these guys grew up in California (like Clanton) and wanted to play in the Big 12 or Big 10 from the start of their recruitment process. One of the bigger gets of the class, and it really helps that it's two commitments in one. These guys could be fun to watch for y'all.

Additional note: Some groups were not/are not mixed-gender throughout entire career, so try to use tracks recorded or performed regularly when the group's membership fits the definition.
