Small concern about Jack Trice logo usage - UPDATE: Gerry Vaughn

Today I came across this very cool beer can design:

I'm a bit uneasy to see Jack's tragic legacy on every single piece of merchandise out there, including the traditional "vice" of alcohol. I think the logo would benefit from some guardrails with a clear, tangible benefit that honors his story. IMO it should be a honor to earn - like the patch on the football uniforms. Not something to create revenue.

Because no one asked me, I will share some suggested steps:

1.) ISU licensing should create a THIRD royalty tier (the highest) for the Trice logo.

2.) All (most?) of that revenue should go towards scholarships and community programs that benefit those in need.

3.) Logo should only appear on certain merchandise categories. Sadly this means no DraftKings x Trice collab.

4.) Every merch item should be required to include packaging that shares his story and vision for a better future.

Anyone else agree?

UNI Tailgating Food

What's everyone planning for the UNI Game? I'm starting with bacon wrapped poblano peppers filled with sweet italian sausage and cheddar cheese. May also make a version on Al Pastor tacos. Take some vac sealed pulled pork and marinate it then put it in the crock pot. We have a lot of red bell peppers so will put those on the blackstone with some onions and saute them for the tacos.

On That Note: Where Were We in '73

This week OTN takes a slight detour from the ordinary.

This month marks the 50th anniversary of the release of the film “American Graffiti” (released August 1973). The other guys at OTN, knowing my affinity for the movie and its effect on my musical exploration, encouraged me to take a detour this week to this classic film and its soundtrack.

Some of you may consider music of the period too old, or maybe you aren’t familiar with the movie itself … that’s OK, we understand.

We are looking for your favorite songs/scenes from the film. We also accept favorite covers/remakes. Also feel free to post any specific memories you have of viewings or perceptions of the film.

A list of the songs from the film will be in a follow-up post.

FS: 4 ISU vs. Iowa FB tickets with parking pass (Mid-field)

I will have 4 seats in Section 8
two in Row 19 (Seat 9 &10) and two in Row 20 (Seat 10 & 11)

Also have a parking pass in S5 with an individual spot which is adjacent to the East entrance to the stadium. PM if interested and we can discuss price. I'm not looking to gouge people but it will need to be reasonable offers and most importantly it will need to be Cyclone fans.

Parking pass is now SOLD.

Jirehl Brock status?

Is there any understanding why Brock is not practicing with the Team? Seems odd that this is a secret. I thought it was the gambling but then his name now never mentioned in the articles about gambling

I'm not actually sure if matters in terms of Ws this year. As long as different RB healthy, it's probably more on off OL. But hoping whatever is going on is not distraction in the locker room. And wish Brock luck in whatever next
