Friday OT #1 - Knock Three Times

Thanks so much to @Bipolarcy for this one! He has a great story that I'm hoping he'll share below, but here's the setup question:

Have you ever had a random person show up at your door in a very weird situation?

Or, to expand on it, have you received a weird phone call?

I remember receiving a call one time at 3 am asking me if I was a tow company. There was some beeping and stuff in the background. In my half-awake stupor, I said "wrong number" and hung up. At the time, my husband worked at a hospital, and I was still in that ridiculous state where you're not awake so you're not thinking rationally at all. So somehow I convinced myself that either he was cheating on me with a nurse or someone on staff, and that they'd broken HIPAA rules and looked up my number in my patient chart to call me and stalk him. I got good and stewed up about this wild leap in logic until I fell back asleep.

A few days later I was driving home from Des Moines with a friend, and telling her about this situation and how I hadn't been rational, but was it possible, etc. I was explaining what had happened - when the truck for the tow company the caller had asked me if I was drove up right beside us... and I saw that their number was one off from my cell.

Friday OT #2 - It's My Safety

Do you have a "safety" or "comfort" TV show that you either watch when you just want a familiar story, or that you've rewatched so many times that you know it by heart?

I think I've rewatched all of Parks and Rec at least four times. Scrubs, The Office, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee - I have seen some episodes maybe a half dozen times each, and I really don't watch much TV at all. I will usually maybe have a new show that I'm watching here and there as I get time, but don't want to be watching it if I'm busy doing other things. I can turn on my "comfort" shows while cleaning something up or checking my phone and not miss anything.

Do you have any comfort or "safety" shows? How did they become that for you - how many times have you watched them?

WBB: Updates on the high school seasons for current signees/verbals

2022 -- Shantavia Dawkins (Southwest Academy, Ontario): Her team plays in the top-level Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA), which is a bloodbath, as most (if not all) of the schools are sports-focused prep schools. Her team, which also has top-level recruit Lemyah Hylton (Arizona commit we recruited) and Keira Spencer (who we have offered), is 8-9 in their pool, which gives you an idea of the level of competition. Stats are very incomplete. Pool play is almost done (and Southwest Academy is done with their games). There is some some sort of tournament in March, but I don't know any details -- given the short schedule, I'm guessing all teams will participate.

New D1 schools coming

I don't remember if this has been discussed, but it's nice to see some movement in the right direction.

Ashley Joens Future

What are the chances that Ashley uses her Covid year and comes back next year? The team is GREAT, she is having a fabulous year and you hear how connected the team is. The latest mock draft I saw did not have her in the first round of the WNBA draft so making a team could be tough. I thought I heard she has some class work to finish up to graduate so going over seas next year would be a challenge. We have seen other players announcing that they are returning (Lee @KSU, Prince @ Oregon, Cinziano @ UI are a few) so would Ash decide to do the same. Maybe a "One More Year" chant from the students on Sat to show she is loved.
