Electric Lawnmowers - Pros and Cons

Our lawnmower is 12 years old, the blade is shot and it probably needs a new wheel, and the model is discontinued. Probably not going to cost much more to buy new than it would to repair the existing one.
Considering electric due to rising cost of gas, and ability to fold up and store some of them easier, but worried about the engine having enough power, and about the battery charge lasting long enough to mow our yard, just a little under an acre.
Any experience or suggestions? We aren't going to splurge and buy top of the line, just something that will get the job done and last for hopefully as long as our old one did...
Thanks in advance!

Winning Time: The Rise of the Laker Dynasty

I finished watching the first season of this 10-part HBO series last night and wanted to recommend it. As this is the only sports site I visit, y’all are the beneficiaries of my recommendation.

The creators of the series have good reason for the disclaimers they attach to the story they tell because they use real names and details regarding the 1979-80 NBA season to tell a hilarious recounting, primarily following the rookie seasons of Ervin “Magic” Johnson and Laker owner Dr Jerry Buss. Did I say it’s hilarious? That and fluid and sexy. And also, in some regards, highly actionable without the disclaimers, I’m sure!

Who many might recognize in the cast are John C. Reilly as the Lakers’ new owner, Dr. Jerry Buss, Adrien Brody as Pat Riley, Jason Clarke as Jerry West and Sally Field in a small role as Dr. Buss’ mother. A “new” actor, Quincy Isaiah, stars as Magic. Norm Nixon’s son, DeVaughn Nixon plays credibly as his dad. Solomon Hughes is a credible Kareem.

They’re careful not to show many on court basketball scenes (because the actors aren’t up to Magic, Kareem, Spencer Haywood, Norm Nixon, Larry Bird, Dr. J and others’ athletic abilities. But they have fun with the dialogue and goings on.

I was glad at the end of the final episode to see that HBO has renewed the series for a second season. I’ll be watching.

Car stereos...

I have blown the speakers in every vehicle I have owned. Just looking for some recommendations as to what I should buy to prevent that. What are the best speakers? Should I get an amp? I am not interested in bass, I need to be able to crank metal at extremely high volumes.

Thanks in advance.

Naked and Afraid TV Show

Figured I better include the "TV Show" part in the title as just Naked and Afraid surely would generate some interesting replies. Anyone here watch this show? I don't watch every episode but I have made a point to watch the XL versions of it as they are a lot more entertaining than the usual 21 day 2 person challenges. I still will watch some of those on occasion but the XL season are so much better.

The new season right now where they started with 4 teams of 3 with 1 planning to do a 60 day challenge and the other two doing a 40 day in the Amazon has been interesting so far. Already had multiple people tap out within the first few days as that environment is just brutal. I really enjoyed the previous XL season where they were in the Louisiana swamps as the weather was starting to turn to winter but as rough as that environment was it looks like a cakewalk compared to the Amazon this season.

Xbox Game Pass Question

Me and my sons were playing a lot of MLB The Show 21 on Xbox Game Pass the past year. Then The Show 21 left Game Pass so we no longer have access to it. If I were to purchase The Show 21 would our achievements/rewards (whatever they are called) be saved? Would we have access to those or would be be starting from scratch? We did get The Show 22 and are working our way through that now but it is fun to go back and play some of the stuff from the 21 edition that we had.

NCAA changing CCG rules

Didn't see this posted already, please merge/delete if I missed it. Looks like the NCAA is recommending getting rid of divisions for football championship game participation, allowing conferences to use other criteria. It opens the door for everyone to use the current Big 12 format, with the top two teams in a rematch. Seems like generally a bad deal for everyone in the Big 10 West. They'll have to play the big boys more often, get to play the little guys less, and will be less likely to get into the championship game. The bouncer in Indy just got a lot better at spotting fake IDs.
