On That Note: ’97 at 25

Welcome back to "On That Note," CycloneFanatic’s weekly hub for music listening & discussion, hosted by @MeanDean, @CycloneRulzzz and cyclones500.

For this segment, we seek your favorite albums released in 1997. With each choice, include up to 4 song samples from the LP.

You’re allowed to repeat an album already cited, but, if so, try to use different tracks from it.

Optional/encouraged: Include notes about the album’s impact from your perspective.

If you’re more singles-oriented, we also accept top songs release in ’97 (or individual tracks from albums released that year, if you don’t deem the full LP worthy of inclusion).

I didn’t attempt to rank mine ... I’ll post one of my favorites in a follow-up post.

Big 12 FB Viewership Numbers

This is interesting. I do question if this is correct though. The B1G is number 4 (or lower) in viewership numbers? They have some huge fan/alumni bases. I know their Fox Big Noon Kickoff usually gets pretty large numbers (3-4 million+). I suppose the other games and especially those on the Big Ten Network could bring their average down quite a bit I guess.

T-Mobile Cellular Service

Verizon upped our rates on our current plan to try to force us into a more expensive unlimited plan. Recently signed my parents up for T-Mobile 5G Home Internet and it's been a game changer for them since all other home internet options for them sucked. They live in rural SW IA. I live in Texas.

Now we're thinking about switching from Verizon to T-Mobile. Can anyone who has used T-Mobile for their cell service in the last year tell me about their experience with them? Is coverage decent? I know all providers have dead spots, even Verizon. We'd probably get the Magenta Max plan and upgrade our phones to 5G devices.

NBA: Future of streaming?

$200 for the season, more than the league pass. Lot of interesting extras, like uhm ballervision.

Ballmer said he could envision a future in which a team could take all of its local broadcast rights and put them on its own streaming service, bypassing the need for a cable-based regional sports network partner, but that wasn’t an option this time because ClipperVision is so new and the team didn’t want to shrink its audience.

A Villain Too Villainous Even for the NFL

I thought this was interesting enough to share:

...A slow drip of reporting over the past year has suggested that Snyder’s colleagues are souring on him. ESPN’s report is notable for what it says about one in particular: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones...

...The NFL has never gone through with a vote to remove an owner. There’s a mechanism in place for it, though, and owners might’ve used it against the Carolina Panthers’ Jerry Richardson after his own self-immolation came to public light in 2017.

...NFL owners don’t like being stolen from, but they do like it when their fellow owners are able to build stadiums on desirable land, oftentimes (though it’s not clear what the outcome will be in this case) with help from taxpayers...
